I prefer a 4x12 over a 2x12 because of the perceived loudness and projection. And yes, they tend to be more available and there are more on the used market. I don't necessarily love my specific 4x12. It's got pros and cons, my favourite that I've tried is the Mesa Oversized 4x12. I have a combo 4x10...

This is stupid but... Michael's has these cases out front marked down to $5. They are meant for carrying scrapbook supplies. They carry anything that is 12" by 12" by 3". Really, this means that they can securely carry an evening's worth of records somewhere. Or like six or seven guit...
