Question for the straight edgers

I always wondered this.

Do you limit your eating if it has an alcoholic beverage in the prep. Ie: beer-battered fish and chips, or pasta that has wine in the sauce.

This isn't meant to sound judgmental, I'm really Just wondering.

In my case no.

A lot of those dishes a lot of the alcohol gets burned off in cooking. Thus just to taste. I also don't go out of my way to order ones that use alcohol in cooking. It is more about flavouring the dish in this case rather than someone getting wasted.

This is a discussion i've had many times. Apperently while cooking dishes with alcohol the heat evaporates it etc

also not opposed to using mouthwash that has alcohol in it... but then again the last one i bought was alcohol free...

alcohol is highly combustible and it the first thing to burn off even at low heat

in my experience, all the dishes that fall under that catagory tend to have meat in them, so i don't eat them regardless.
but even if they're meatless, i still don't go out of my way to eat them. i think using alochol is kind of weird, though i get why people use it (as troy said, for the flavoring), but i don't think it means you all of sudden "break" edge because as noted previously, "straightedge: a group of ethics. not a dogma"

me and jordan will sometimes do it with the lights on.. we are back to back however so we don't see each other.
