I'll be in San Francisco the next two weekends coming up, but when I get back I'll totally join in. Feel free to start without me, I can jump in easily.

also I think I have a spare 2nd-edition monster manual and player's handbook, or dm guide.

also, and this is just my opinion, try and stay away from downloaded stuff. its not like you really need the extra rules and looking stuff up on a computer during a gaming session is basically the antithesis to pen and paper gaming.

Well the campaign i am having with Willa , Mikey and maybe you / whoever else is probably going to be 3rd.

Tyler and I are starting up a 2nd group. that is 2nd edition

Also totally agree. When i have dm'd in the past it has been with me making notes before hand and then using just the core books for the most part.

for our second edit group, I have...
ad&d 2nd edit player's guide
ad&d 2nd edit dm guide
three dragonlance background-related reference books
ad&d priest handbook
ad&d psionic handbook

I am much more about basic core rules than looking shit up online. I don't believe that computers have much of a place in an actual D&D game. that being said, I have downloaded pretty much everything related to 1st and 2nd edition for scoping purposes.

scott, would you be into joining our 2nd edition and dragonlance group? so far the only confirmed people are really troy and I... we had some other people but they are flakey or live far. we're trying to keep it small and fun with maybe one DM and three or four players max.

I would be down for playing 2nd Edition again. I haven't played that since high school. You'd have to remind me of a lot of the more weird rules, but my nights are looking more and more free these days.
