Apparently skydiving from space wasn't enough for him, so he did three tours of duty in Vietnam, spent 11 monthes being tortured at the Hanoi Hilton, and then came home and complete the worlds first solo transatlantic crossing in a gas balloon. Dude still flys planes and balloons to this day.

I'm on my phone right now but if that video is anything like your describing, this man is on a Clint Eastwood level of badass.
