The band Promises will have some demos available at this show. They're yours for the taking!

this show was rad. sorry I showed up late but yeah, I had class, had a presentation to do in the class, and missing it would have forfeit like 25% of my final mark. I also got pretty much no sleep the previous night while preparing the presentation and doing an online quiz. fuck school. anyway I was exhausted.

forfeit were a nice surprise. super moshy.
outbreak were good and it's awesome that they can still play shows missing a guitarist but man... I've seen them like 4-5 times or so now and this has to be the weakest set of theirs I've seen. don't get me wrong, it was still energetic and stuff. I don't know, maybe it was the weird crowd or that I was tired or something.

anyway, the turnout was pretty great for an all ages hardcore show and there were lots of new faces and that rules. great job, society!

I showed up for a bit of White Ribs. As always they ruled.
Apparatus Theory are the grinding hatred. Teney is a machine? Yeah.
Forfeit were cool. Dudes were pretty tuff.
Outbreak were good too. They (and Forfeit) are the kind of bands that are kind of fun live, but on recording I don't think I could jam. Good to see Adam/Jeremy/Tom freaking out during their shit though hahaha.

I enjoyed the show. I don't go to enough, mostly because they always seem to conflict, so it was nice that I could actually go to one.

Promises: Usual enjoyable form. Liked their set.
White Ribs: Totally impressed me. this genre I usually find as just an excuse of a bunch of dorks to play super fast and sloppy, but they were super tight and I enjoyed it. I thought their set was a little long, but totally enjoyable.
Apparatus Theory: these guys are a weird thing for me. I get theyre really, really good musicians. Especially Ashton, he's really good. But I feel like they're still struggling to figure out a direction. Sometimes they've got awesome like Cancer Bats esque thing going on, which is cool, and sometimes theyve got some crazy Chariot freakout esque things going on too, which is also super cool, yet together...I don't know. I'm not trying to rag on them too hard, jsut what I think. Also worth mentioning, theyd become my favourite local band ever if they played detroit rock city in full.
Forfiet: Meh, not really my thing.
Outbreak: If this was their worst set Tyler, than please, please bring them back, as I thought they were great. Super fun, musically something I can get behind. Really enjoyed it. Would see them again, for sure.

All in all, fun times.

I have enormous bruises all up my arms, minor black eye, busted up shins, it was awesome. I had a really great time, all the dudes in the bands were super rad guys as well, would be stoked to have them back.
I didn't really enjoy the Forfeit or Outbreak recordings, but again, fun as fuck live. Was stoked.
I play bass. I play guitar. I do both poorly. What's up.

Victoria should book more hard bands
show was great the vibe was sweet so many scum bags in attendence
everyone played nice
even the annoying drunk guy wasnt that annoying
VEC is a great spot
Id only put that outbreak preformance under others is cause the 2 other times I saw them it was packed (once champions last show and the other in up state new york where I think they are from or close to being from, but still very tight)
I had to leave early
rumor has it hatebreed is playing van isle fest under a fake name

i had a really good time, the attendence was looking shaky at first but by the time apperatus theory kicked in it looked like a great crowd, saw tons of kids ive never seen before moshing

i think i through my back out i am fucked today. it was hard sleeping and i could barely put on clothes this morning for work. fuck backs.

also i gotta say, apparatus theory probably put on their best show ive seen yet. im usually not down with it but they had a good night for sure i was into as peter said cancerbat riffs and chariot chaos passages they were doin

I felt the outbreak set was as good as most of their sets.

Different setting really though.

First time I saw them was at Champion's last show. At a huge peak in peoples interest in Outbreak.

Tons of kids.

2nd time was at Rain Fest
Once again huge group of people with tons of people going off.

3rd time was in Vancouver at that CBK/Bane/Shai Hulud/Misery Signals/Grave Maker/ Outbreak show
they played 2nd.
was kind of weird but still pretty fun. Ryan / other members go all out every show.

Now this time in Victoria
Differences.
VEC is weird.
sound there lacks in weird ways.
They went all out while missing a guitar player.

About Outbreak Drummer drumming for Forfeit. Not sure if Erik was the drummer they had in 2006 but the outbreak drummer that year the day after the Champion last show he learned the drum parts that night for Down to Nothing and the First Step sets the next day
Which i thought was crazy at the time.

and played

85 paid on a Monday night for a hardcore show is repectable...sounds like a successful show.
