some people don't have the budget for a decent PA. ron, you have a good PA, but it's way excessive for kay's primary use of vocals in her basement and at small venues. I'd say a cheap functional PA is better than no PA at all and throwing money away on rentals.

and another thing - buying a cheap PA used for a lower offer means that it will basically retain its value from that point on. so if she ever gets more money and wants to upgrade, it's as simple as flipping it on craigslist or usedvic, possibly for a $20-50 profit, then going for something a little better. once I made like $120 profit on a yamaha dx7 by doing this after I got bored of it.

Hey Tyler. I wasn't using my PA as a reference. . .I just can't imagine a hip hop act (for example) trying to go through those Traynors (which I have seen at Carpetland) or them competing with some of the ridiculous bass rigs I have seen at shows lately.

Used NX series Yorkvilles of various sizes are constantly on sale at L&m and are not overly expensive to pay off (or rent for that matter). Tom Lee looks like they are blowing out a bunch of cheap Behringer powered speakers this month so that's an option too.

And although it is off topic, I have a standing offer that I am willing to do sound for any show that throws at least one noise / industrial act on the bill.
