Ouch. Cold Cave is fucking bunk, I'll give ya that, but AN is still a great band.

I used to say that too, when I was twelve, and then I actually listened to them.

AN rules.
Cold Cave have some cool albums but are completely different. I wouldn't expect anyone on here to like them

Cold Cave sound like Joy Division without any of the things that make Joy Division amazing.

Think Willa done goofed. CC sounds like a blatant fourth rate new order without any of the hooks who then decided to move on to ripping off The Cure. In either case, they suck massive dick and get far too much praise. If anyone is gonna go for Goth dark synth pop, go for xeno and oaklander or something...

Cold Cave have a handful of real catchy jams but overall their albums are spotty. I do think he/they are getting better as they go so they might put out a consistently good record eventually.

That's it. You and I are drinking whiskey and listening to Joy Division. I will convince you this band is good.

Mournful Congregation - The Book Of Kings .. man this is just my favorite band from 2011, all their albums are fucking godly.
Mastodon - The Hunter .. Alana's musical tastes are starting to rub off on me. Its going okay.
Absu - Abzu .. kings of fucking kings here. Anyone who disagrees needs to get out of my house.
Iskra/Doom Siren split .... really enjoying the shit out of this one on the repaired press. man what a bummer on the fuckup ..)
Death Toll 80k - Harsh Realities ... DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING OOOOOOG OOOOOOOG OOOOOOOG OOOOOOOOOG DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING
Wadge - Grindcore Lu'au ... mostly ignored Canadian grindcore. This album is a triumph for Wadge. Might have something to do with my prediliction for Blood Duster, although mostly in spirit, not sonically.
Mitochondrion - Parasignosis ... I know these guys. Re-release the demos, boys. Show the world.
Loss - Despond .. welp let's all go kill ourselves.
Hooded Menace/Ilsa split - Hoodede Menace are fast becoming one of my favorites, and Ilsa are basically No Eulogy's long lost twins.
Archspire - All Shall Align .. YOU MY BOYS BLUE twiddilytwiddilysquealtingtingting

Not that I don't like Joy Division, but if you have to get somebody drunk so that they enjoy a band......

I have no idea when records came out. All I know is that I've probably listened to the Wolbachia Laying Of Hands demo and the Iskra/Doom Siren split more than anything else of the past couple months.

Nope. I'm gonna strap him down, force feed him alcohol, and make him like Joy Division. This is totally legal.
