Re: VIHC FEST VI
The only reason it was like last year is they were the bands that could do that date. First to respond. Or were able to play on short notice.wolfgang wrote:Seriously though....are you guys planning on booking the same kind of fest you did last year...or are you gonna open it up a bit more. Really all I wanna know is if there are gonna be ANY bands on the bill that I'd like to see...any decent hardcore-punk sounds? Have you guys got dates nailed down...if so, when?
We are ALWAYS open to more sounds. We are looking at certain dates. Not sure if we are announcing those dates yet.
I really would love to get some of the bands you mentioned.

not my personal list, our list for the fest that i have yet to sift through and listen to, before i start contacting.Andrew wrote:Who's on your list?ebony wrote:oh my goddddddddddddddddd theres no way im reading through this whole thing right now. my list is so long, ill do it later.

Re: VIHC FEST VI
no, there would be no point in putting on the exact same fest as last year. thats why troy made this thread.. because we want everyones input. weather or not the bands people want to see can actually play, though.. is another story. we do what we can. last year was the result of alot of hard work. some bands couldnt make it last minute. shit happens.wolfgang wrote:Seriously though....are you guys planning on booking the same kind of fest you did last year...or are you gonna open it up a bit more. SHIT IS GOING TO BE OFF THE HOOK
list of spells i'd like to use for VIHCVI
"Clone" (Necromancy, Level8 Sor/Wiz)
A duplicate can be grown while the original still lives, or when the original soul is unavailable, but the resulting body is merely a soulless bit of inert flesh, which rots if not preserved.
* so I can puke at all the after parties at once
"Astral Form" (Necromancy Level: Clr 9, Sor/Wiz 9, Travel 9)
Travelers in astral form cannot be slain normally. If the form is killed, the astral traveler's soul returns to its original body, which remains unharmed.
Severing the silver cord that connects the form to the main body kills an astral traveler's normal body. Only a few circumstances, such as the psychic wind of the Astral Plane,
an attack from an astral dreadnought, or a blow from a githyanki silver sword, can sever this cord.
* so i don't get killed by windmilling vancouver jocks
--
also i prefer a grindcore/screamo sound to a hardcore/punk set. there are many people that feel that way, where tickled by last years' showing @thefest, would like to be tickled again.

This comment rubbed me the wrong way. There will be tons of good hardcore/punk bands. If you don't like it, don't come.wolfgang wrote:Seriously though....are you guys planning on booking the same kind of fest you did last year...or are you gonna open it up a bit more. Re: VIHC FEST VI
Anyone actually investigated Converge coming and playing VIHC fest??? WOULD KINDA MAKE SENSE.
Re: VIHC FEST VI
I used the term hardcore-punk to differentiate from metal influenced hardcore, grindcore, slicker antiquated punk rock music, etc. I love hardcore too...and would love to see something that I like represented in a hardcore festival in the city that I live. Last year I think there was one band that I was interested in seeing...so I didn't go. I'd like to WANT to go this year! This comment rubbed me the wrong way. Re: VIHC FEST VI
Fucked Up.
besides the fact how bad i want to see them, considering how popular they are this could make hardcore fest HUGE.

I would really love to see Mr. Gibas and Mr. Pantella performing an all acoustic setlist of our favorite hits from the 70s and 80s.

Re: VIHC FEST VI
We're doing our best to make everybody happy, but a lot of who plays has to do with who's touring and in the area at the time and it's just downright impossible to make everybody happy all of the time. If you know any bands who would like to play feel free to pass along their information to us.wolfgang wrote:I used the term hardcore-punk to differentiate from metal influenced hardcore, grindcore, slicker antiquated punk rock music, etc. I love hardcore too...and would love to see something that I like represented in a hardcore festival in the city that I live.
