I just don't want to find out it's just a replacement power cord and get a $60 bill for it, you know? the amp is also solid state and not tube. is he fair?

First thing man, DO NOT do anything inside the amp yourself. Even unplugged the amp can store enough electrical charge to kill you.

If you're looking to buy tubes locally L+M sell Electro Harmonix tubes, which I've been hearing good things about. I don't know if that amp runs on EL34's or 6L6's but it should be easy to find out online.

Alot of Laneys, although I don't know about this one, can actually take both el84s AND 6L6s.

Given the music you play though, if it can take both, i'd recommend 6L6s

I want one of these. My combo isn't loud enough for hardcore.

CodyCreepcore wrote:the guy that long and mcquade uses is john pang. hes got a little store (pangco electronics) near mayfair, inbetween douglas and burnside. i went to him once with my amp. got it back and it blew again right away, but he fixed it the 2nd time for free. hes real nice but yeh i question the quality of his work.

i also dont find 100 watts to be enough. i dont think i would EVER own a 50 watt head. well depending on the music i guess.

i go to this guy too and i had the same bullshit happen almost every time. Then it takes him 2 months to "order some parts". Sucks. Superslacks will work on tube amps and does a good job but he is busy and will only work on stuff every once n awhile.

Tempo trend seems like a legit place for drums.

i think if your going to get an audio interface you might as well get something that has more then 2 inputs. cuz with 2 you might as well just use a cheap shitty mixer and pan the tracks to keep them separate. my 12 track audio interface was only like 380 or something. they used to cost like 800 bucks but their cheap now.

i honestly dont need more than two. im not gonna do a ton of track live, im never going to record actual drums. seriously its exactly what i needed.

i always wanted a presonus firepod but when the day came i ended up getting a tascam us-1641. same deal except its usb instead of firewire. i love this thing. although i rented a firepod for about a month and used it too and its just as good. but i think its like maybe 80 bucks more.

does USB transfer 12 tracks of data fast enough without any weird lag or error or clocking issues?

ive never had any recording lag from this thing. if anything it would be my computer not being able to handle recording 12 tracks at once. USB 2.0 is actually faster then firewire 1394a. but not faster then 1394b

USB 1.1
12 Mb/s

USB 2.0
480 Mb/s

FireWire 1394a
400 Mb/s

FireWire 1394b
800 Mb/s
