Re: JAN 7 2010 VANCOUVER: ALL AGES PUNK/HARDCORE BENEFIT

Post by Hollow »

I like having people post Vancouver shows here. I can't go to all of them, but at least this way I can plan and figure out which ones I can make.

This is a sweet lookin' show and if I can make it out for it, I will.

i like how you don't consider 5 band bills.

For shows at venues i almost always want 5 bands if i can. house shows i only want up to 3.
i find 4 a weird number for some reason.

4 is a very unlucky number

5 is 2 bands too many for any show

5 band shows in my opinion will only really ever work if:

a) there's enough of a separate draw for all 5 of those bands that it's worth having the show go longer.

b) all of the bands are legitimately awesome enough that people will stay the duration, and there's gear sharing.

let's face it, few people have the attention span to sit through four hours of bands that may or may not figuratively blow their hair back. seldom is there a show that captures that attention. i know i don't usually have it, and i won't fake the social grace of pretending that i do. people usually like to be home at a reasonable time, or still have time to go out after the show if they want. oh well. *old person problems*

I'm with Troy, 5bands is rad.

Actually, the more the better. It's a show. I wanna hang out with friends, watch some bands, eating gross food at Alzu's etc. Fuck getting home at a good hour.

I honestly don't care how many bands play as long I can get home without having to miss any bands.

seldom can you field a good enough lineup that makes more than four bands worth it.

i am way old man already and cannot take too much shenanigans. you island kids are too fucking keen. :P

i'm with chad though, that's real talk. hope lots of people come out to this!
