Re-Animator is fantastic. Some other suggestions.

Suspiria. Dario Argento at his best.
Ichi the Killer, Izo, Audition, Dead or Alive 1 and 2 (avoid 3). All by Takeshi Miike, Japans version of Quentin Tarantino, but on meth.
Terribly Happy. Dutch film noir, tense as shit.
13th Warrior. Muslims and Vikings vs. Cave Men. Not joking. Stars Antonio Banderes and directed by John McTiernan (he directed the original Die Hard).

Gotta get to work. I'll post some more later.

You don't need any of them. You just need drugs.

I've been going for the more popular suggestions I've received as I have 48 hours before I leave and most likely wont be able to download more for about 2 months. Here's what I have so far.
A Clockwork Orange
Belly
Burn After Reading
Coach Carter
Heathers
Precious
Pump Up The Volume
Red Dawn
Schindlers List
Steel Magnolias
The Joy Luck Club
The Rite
The Virgin Suicides
Unbreakable
White Orleader

Downloading currently
Porn
Tears of the Sun
500 Days of Summer
Eastern Promises
Mother of Tears and Inferno as I already have Suspiria and these are apparently the next 2 in the series

Keep em coming

Also suggestion that are subtitled have been a bit of a pain.
Ive tried for City of God like 6 times and the subs are never consistent.

Good point on the subs. Inferno is a great sequel, not as good as Suspiria but still good. Mother of Tears=boooo.

My favorite Canadian horror flick is called Pontypool, directed by Bruce McDonald (of Hardcore Logo fame). Really great.

Trick R Treat is a fantastic schlocky horror movie that's actually four vignettes that tie together. Incredibly gory, way over the top. If you're lucky you can find the original 1980's version starring Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne.

Download some classic sci fi while you're at it: Total Recall, Robocop, Terminator 1 and 2, Mad Max, Road Warrior, Beyond Thunderdome, Hardware (a great sci fi flick with cameos by Lemmy and Iggy Pop), things like that. I'm sure you've seen most if not all of these but they're always good to throw on when you're drunk and can't pay attention as well as you'd like.

Trailer Park of Terror is hilarious, over the top and gory. Four words: Death By Deep-Fry. Also, the woman playing the main villain is trashy-hot.

I'll try to think of some more for later.
