Tonight Siren Songs played what might have been the best set I've seen a local band play. Fuck

this year had some seriously awesome shows. i definitely skipped out on way too many though, and for sure regret it now.

stuff i checked out and loved:

omegas/mad men (last show)
sheer terror
big k.r.i.t./smoke dza (saw em twice, killed it both times)
foundation/harms way
free spirit/urban blight/dead end path/united youth
iron lung/slaughter strike (last show...ughhhhhhh they were so good)
HAYMAKER/fog of leprosy (wasn't necessarily as wild as people fronted but otherwise totally great. some guy beside me got part of his shoe burnt off by a firecracker)

stuff that is happening soon that will most likely make the "best of 2011" list:

waka flocka flame (next weekend. get buck)
not dead yet weekend (a whole lot of amazing here)
jay z/kayne (my friend is getting a private box. i'm not even necessarily a big fan of either, but anything at that level of baller status is going to be awesome)
