I'm stoked but nothing will ever come of it. Dad had a Refused record so it'd be cool to see them but I'll live without. Got into At the Drive-In right after they broke up, will continue to live without seeing them.

actually whatever i know most people have different tastes but AN have always meant a lot to me getting into hardcore. Probably why I went to the show.

didnt some of these dudes say the only way they'd reunite was strictly for the cash? i mean, at least they're being honest about their feelings, but it still induces some serious douche chills.

i gotta say, for such a creative and interesting band (at the time), they REALLY dropped the ball by starting mars volta, which is arguably the worst band (of any genre) to come out of the 00's.

Mars Volta is one of only a few bands that make me physically angry every time I listen to them. Such garbage.

I have heard WAY worse than the Mars Volta. But also way better.

Eh, it's all subjective of course. It's just that thing we all have. There are bands out there that you just downright despise and you can never really put your finger on why you despise them but holy shit you can't stand them. Pink Floyd and The Mars Volta are two of them.

Good thing you didn't hang out with me in 05-06. I have 2 bootleg live dvds, bootleg live LP, most of the records for then. a signed cd, posters, Omar's guitar pick from a show, etc

Nah, it's all good. We just wouldn't have talked about them is all. I have a lot of hippie friends who can't understand why I loath Pink Floyd either. Again, it's just one of those things I can't really explain...I just fucking like them.

Although I did watch an interview with the Mars Volta and they were talking about how they had written the lyrics for some song by finding some old Sanskrit which they (and I'm quoting here) "interpretated". My head about fucking exploded with the crossed lines of too much pretension and abject stupidity. Not exactly a good reason to like a band, but there it is.
