it's ridiculous that the singer would go back to this after winning $100,500.00 in some surf/bro-college rock band...

I like how in the first 20 seconds he mentions all the reasons anybody could have for supporting SOPA.

Also, as of yesterday SOPA has been shelved. Not even the bill's sponsors support it anymore.

i liked the "clickity click part" and that the voice of the internet sounded like that voice on all the old death row albums.

Ran into Nick earlier and he gave me the low down. Apparently the singer started playing bass for some ska band called The Current Swell, and they went off to some 3-4 month camp run by "music industry insiders", which was just some massive battle of the bands but with workshops that taught you how to "make it in the industry". Anyway, whole thing was a giant contest and they won it along with a shit ton of money and recognition from people who could easily give them more money. And then the dude went back to Funk Vigilante. Moral of the Story: this dude's heart, soul, passion and fire are with Funk Vigilante. Mind blowing.

Was that what it was? Huh. Well, either way, the guy has a track record of being in incredibly shitty bands, FV is simply the shittiest of the shittiest. This new song with it's play-it-safe, currently irrelevant "politics" being one of them. They also did a song on how shitty Bush was...in 2008, released around the same time that Obama got elected. They're Canadian, mind you. OH, and they apparently are Ron Paul supporters...DESPITE BEING FUCKING CANADIAN. Oh, and they play music so outdated my Grandfather thinks they're stupid.

Finally, I will knife-fight you if you talk shit about Prince. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I saw Current Swell in 2005. it was like that blonde kid from glee was cloned a few times and they all played some campire songs with vocal harmonies about west-coasty things like longboarding and looking at the waves and stuff. this was at Big Fernwood I think. this guy must have still been in the band. so weird.

tl;dr: I watch Glee

I SHOULD HAVE STATED THAT I LOVE PRINCE AND THAT I WASN'T TRASHING HIM AT ALL. it was only that they are complete replicas of his music. i swear when i saw them live (free show with free beer at the reopening of rickshaw) i said "AM I SEEING PRINCE? I AM TWELVE WHAT IS THIS"

but yeah, that's dumb. but then again why would you do something that you aren't 100% into just for money?

they're sweet. and dana is probably one of the top five drummers in vancouver. he's INSANE.
he's left handed and chooses to play on a right handed set and never crosses his arms and it's just fantastic.
all the dudes in the band rule to party with.

If they cloned the blonde guy from Glee and started a band, I would be at every show. I would buy posters for my room and would make signs asking them to marry me that I would wave at them while simultaneously screaming and crying.

he joined more recently, as back then Funk Vigilante was based out of Toronto...

That is preeeetty legit! I'm 90% sure I still have a handbill from one of the shows they played in Kelowna in my memory box.

That's right, I have a memory box with a large amount of junk in it..

i think my apartment is a memory box. there is a old cigarette package full of old concert tickets and a mini zine my friend made that i've made into a fridge magnet. i still have a mickey's bigmouth bottle with a rose in it that a boy gave to me three years ago. (the bottle was from the date)
on a side note: the downside to having a roommate is when you have to go piss and he's taking a long ass shower. fuck this shit.

SOPA may have been shelved, but that does not mean everyone must go silent. The blackouts still have a lot of value, and what SOPA stands for is still a very real possibility.

also, if you want to access wiki:
just use noscript for firefox or turn off scripts in your browser settings. that will keep english wikipedia up.
