FACT! I was once in a band called The Destructocons that played one original and a then a bunch of Bouncing Souls and Rancid covers. Expect to find me there front row, drunker than Boris Yeltsin, singing along every word.

I hear there's gonna be a metal show going down on Nov 14th, not sure on the details yet -- Mother Died Today, Eyes of Odin, and City of Fire (containing members of Zimmer's Hole, Econoline Crush, Strapping Young Lad and Fear Factory).

As well, Nov 20th ... avoid the Langford Legion, because that's Funk Viglante/Ninjaspy.
Same night, Mapping the Escape/Along Way Home/On Call Heroes/Unicron/Stoned Optic at the Isabelle Reader theatre (also in Langford).

Went to Nadja... it was fucking amazing! Versimilitude were pretty lame, like Nadja Lite with live drums... well, almost half a kit. Drummer was really into it, though, and you gotta give props to that. Yelled a lot of passionately incoherent stuff near the end of the set. Shearing Pinx were pretty good, actually, but I missed the last half of the set to smoke some hash oil with a friend of mine. Strange that no one was smoking weed before/during/after the show (that I saw) given the nature of the music the headliner makes, but I got my fill and Nadja were mesmerising. They played one song I didn`t recognize, then a new song, and then the Cliffs Notes version of "Thaumogenesis", which clocked in at about 25 minutes, I think. Projector was fucked but the way it kept breaking down had a cool effect on the experience. The coverage of the projected image kept shrinking vertically and tilting slightly to the left, and it seemed as though we were all looking through a closing eyelid... Lots of cool ambient parts, and the projections were intense while they latsed. Only my second show since I moved here, and it was a very intense experience. Lots of grokking going on throughout the hypnotic state they lulled me into. Bought "Touched" and "Radiance of Shadows" and one of Aidan Baker's books. Good times.

I really think we had more of a Cop/Filth era Swans meets Earth's Phase 3 thing going on.

Yeah, I agree about the Phase 3 thing for the guitar in a few parts of the show, and some of the noise parts were okay, but overall it was a pretty dull set. Puny drumkit was swallowed up by loud boring guitar. Not horrible but umimpressive either way.

Fair enough. This is the first incarnation we've taken in that set-up so I felt it was a little held back.

We will force him to play an all acoustic set of their songs. We will chain him up and throw moldy potatoes at him until he complies.
