VIHC.net VAN ISLE HARDCORE BOARD

Hey, a film I directed called "ChristCORE" is having it's world premiere at the Victoria Film Fest on Monday, Feb 4 at The Vic Theatre (808 Douglas St) at 7pm.

I play in Kleins96 (kleins96.bandcamp.com) and run Harvest King Records, both based out of Regina though I recently moved to Van. I'm an atheist/agnostic who hit the road with Sleeping Giant (http://www.facebook.com/sleepinggiant) and Messengers (http://www.facebook.com/messengerstxhc), on a few different tours in the summer of 2011. We saw a lot of crazy things, from faith healing to mass baptisms from the stage to endless amounts of "spirit-filled" metalcore, but tried to put together a balanced, objective film despite our very opposing beliefs. I'll post the trailer this weekend.

I actually lived in Victoria for the year we developed and shot this movie, so it's awesome that I get to come full circle and have the premiere there. This'll be the only chance to see the movie in Victoria until the full theatrical run in the summer. I'll be at the screening too, so come hang out.

still will be an interesting movie to check out as it is made by an atheist going into this weird phenom that is christian hardcore.

The movie definitely does NOT have a Christian perspective, I wouldn't have posted about it here if it was a Christian movie.

Impending Doom is definitely still very Christian. They hold hands and pray onstage before their sets. I interviewed the singer a bit but they never made it into the movie.

Impending Doom is terrible, but I'd like to hear them try to justify themselves.
