"That's dry as a bone, it has to have been there for over a year," the agent who found the cat said. "Maggots have been there and then have left."
"I've been an investigator for 15 years but that sent a chill right down my spine when I saw that," said OSPCA officer Kevin Strooband.
"This is unbelievable. I'm still reeling ... This is a house of horrors."
A day after being arrested at the shelter and kept in police custody “for some hours” before being released, Mr. Trow said the charges came as a complete surprise and he's still at a loss as to why he's being accused of animal cruelty.
Now as somebody who's been known to say things like "I'd eat a dog if I was hungry enough" I still find this kind of unsettling. But even more so is the Humane Society's president complete obliviousness. It's like he got to the bottom of a pit and decided to dig his way out.

I chuckled.
Still, this shit absolutely destroys me. I know I don't go on about it much, but I really am a pretty vigorous believer in animal rights (can't really label myself an "activist" anymore...been a while since I took part in a protest or any other kind of action) and this is the kind of thing that just throws me for a loop. I end up trying to decide if I'm disgusted, infuriated, or just sad. Ends up being a mix of the three.
Fuck.

Sad. I normally don't call for the beating and maiming of living creatures, but they need to take the staff and fucking rape them.

Yes, this is really terrible.
Is the suggestion that these heads of the Humane Society collecting a paycheck from donations and then not caring about the animals, or was it more a case of incompetency and being overwhelmed?

I've found in situations like these it ends up being six of one, half a dozen of the other. The heads of the Society collect fat checks from the gu'mint, then refuse to purchase the necessary equipment or training materials, and then the staff ends up being incompetent and overwhelmed for obvious reasons.

I'm really curious as to the chain of events leading to the cat being in the ceiling. I feel like as more information comes out the more ridiculous this story is going to become.
