Wow thanks for the reminder, I haven't listened to when 20 summers pass in ages!
Funny, I'm listening to American Nightmare right now...
That's it, you're coming to the next Taco Tuesday or I'm dragging you out there.
Haha and I take it I have no say in this.
Drag me there if you must; I'll probably forget.

How have we never met? or have we and I am making myself look like a dick...
I don't know... have we? Of all the regulars on this forum, I think the only one I've actually 'met' is Willa...

you're as capable of being in a band as anybody on this forum. do what I did and become a "vocalist", ha.

This. I've been in a bunch of bands and I can't play a fucking thing on any instrument. I'm not a musician, I'm a writer with a microphone.

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm a writer with a pen... not a microphone.
Capable, perhaps, but not willing haha... as much as I like to say it, I'm satisfied going to every show I can.

definitive list? there are some good suggestions in this thread. I'll keep mine short, and try not to repeat.

Charles Bronson, for the fastcore.
I Shot Cyrus, underrated and also fast!
Coalesce, really surprised no one mentioned them, tough weird-tempo hardcore.
Keelhaul, I can't fucking jock this band hard enough. Their album "II" (err, 2) is unbeatable.
Bane, because they were the first hardcore band I ever saw.
Tragedy, for melodic hardcore from the states.
His Hero is Gone, if Tragedy is too wimpy for your tastes.
Sairaat Mielet, best straight-edge hardcore band EVER.
Martyrdod, dark melodic hardcore from sweden, kicks the shit out of Wolf Brigade imho.

I thinkthat me all wasted and yelling at you about Municipal Waste should count as meeting each other.

...this entire list (sans Bane) is why were friends. Coalesce rules. Did I ever tell you I saw Dillinger Escape Plan back in 2002 with Sean Ingram doing vocals? Yeah, dude destroyed it. Shortly thereafter, DEP began sucking in a massive way, and I think it's cuz Sean sucked all the cool out of that band in the brief time he was associated with it.

I don't know... you were wasted, and I mean, I'm pretty sure I got to shake Willa's hand. That's officially 'meeting' someone... we just yelled at each other and you couldn't even remember what I said haha.

Clearly Willa is going senile in his advanced age.

I actually think the first hardcore band I ever saw was The First Day. They are worth putting on the list (and checking out) for whoever is reading this.

Nevertheless, Bane are pretty sweet and the guitar player liked my blackmetal shirt. He kept saying "TRUEEEEEE" and throwing the horns even though there was no metal band, or head, in sight.

People either seem to like this band, or think they're a total joke. Do you like that "kind" of hardcore? Are they like some kind of silly caricature of the music they're playing but don't take it seriously, like 3 inches of blood? Fucked Up is a god-damn snooze fest. That Bane CD I had with all the war imagery in it totally ruled.
