Every single person here listened to NuMetal at some point (except maybe Wolfgang). It truly was the shame of our generation...BUT MAN SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA TAKE A TRIP BACK...

If Deftones are NuMetal then I still listen to NuMetal.
However, other than Deftones I never had a NuMetal phase.

maybe not pure nu-metal but i was really into em at the same time as i was really into the deftones so close enough.
definitely not as hard as that soulfly video though.

I owned every one of these albums and/or saw all these bands live.

I would consider Tool a progressive rock band. They never approached the whole rapping/overtly simple song writing. I saw them when they came to Victoria, and that was the farthest thing from a nu-metal concert ever.
anyway SOULFLY, i used to have a Soulfly hoodie, and when i heard their duet with the singer of Slipknot...OH MAN...

first two(three?) tool albums are within the vicinity of nu-metal, maybe "alternative metal" would be more appropriate, i don't give a shit.

what about Chimaira.
I love how numetal blended with industrial, rap, alt rock, death metal, etc. Truly a versatile genre.
