If this is enough wattage for your needs these amps sound really good. The V-Type preamp is a classic TE take on the Alembic F-1X (aka the Fender tone stack) preamp, one of my faves. Always liked TE amps, I've owned a few in the past and always dig them. Still miss the Hexavalve and AH400SMX TE amps, both were really nice.

for reference, this is 280 watts and an svt is 300.

While Trace Elliot do make a very good power section, this amp does not compare to an SVT for volume regardless of how close their wattage rating may seem on paper.Crucified wrote:for reference, this is 280 watts and an svt is 300.
