FS: SX GG1 Jr Natural Finish Guitar w. P90 pickups, $110
this is the guitar I used in Watcher for all shows but the last one, most of the jams, and the guitar I used to record the 7". I also used it as a primary guitar, with a $900 70's SG as my backup, because I honestly think it just sounds really good.
the pickups are sharp P90s - lots of definition, loads of bite. I suspect they have ceramic magnets but it's just speculation since I don't have specs for them. but as such, they are a little noisy when not being played through. nothing out of the ordinary for a variety of single coil, especially when going through high gain.
it's basically a flat top les paul with P90s. while the pickups sound good, I am selling it because I like the feel of the recent guitar I got a little better - a goldtop les paul knockoff with a neck binding and arch top body that's a little heavier and has humbucker-sized P90s.
I'd say the action is set medium-low. it has a few dings. a small one on the neck which you can feel with your hand but doesn't impede playing, and a few little ones on the body. I didn't take care of this as much as my other guitars because I think it cost me about $180 CDN shipped. I'd like to try to sell it for $110 if anyone on the forum wants it. I think this is a pretty good price since a single pickup or guitar pedal can cost way more than this. but it's not a valuable guitar. it's just a really good value for the sound that comes out of it.
I think lots of dudes who own this sort of guitar play blues rock jams with it, but I think it is really well suited to anything with complex chording requiring the definition that P90s have. through a tube amp with the right settings, it has this really chliling low-fi ring to it, like nothing I've heard except maybe in the live indian summer recordings. through a high gain amp, it sounds clear and sharp. it doesn't get as chugga-chuggy as a guitar with humbuckers. but it's way closer to that territory than anything with strat style pickups, but not muddy in the slightest - especially the bridge pickup.
Stats from Rondo:
Single cutaway flat top, made from beautiful, three piece, natural solid Mahogany
Two soap bar P90 pickups
P-90 pickups offer superior output and outstanding treble response
Two volume and two tone controls and a three way pickup selector switch help you find your sound
Stop-Bar tailpiece transfers string vibration to the body of the guitar and produces superior sustain
Mahogany set neck with adjustable truss rod
The set neck and angle headstock also help transfer string vibration to the body
Set necks tend to be more stable than bolt-ons (less likely to move and cause buzzing)
Rosewood fretboard with 22 jumbo frets
3 Ply pick guard (black/white/black)
Dark Natural Finish
Width of the neck at the nut: 1 5/8"; at the 22st fret: 2 3/16". Scale is 24 3/4" Bridge studs are 3" apart

Have you had it set up? how is it for fretbuzz if I want to wail on it?
Re: FS: SX GG1 Jr Natural Finish Guitar w. P90 pickups, $110
I've been throwing heavy bottom / medium top strings on it lately because I was breaking strings like crazy with lighter gauges just because of the way I play. the intonation is a little off with the change in string gauge. there is a tiny bit of fret buzz the way the action is right now, just for the lower frets, but you could mess with the string height if you want.

no case since it didn't come with one in the first place. sorry, I didn't specify that.
Nick/ImaginaryGirlfriend, you get first crack at it, as long as you're hitting up the island in the next month or so.

Re: FS: SX GG1 Jr Natural Finish Guitar w. P90 pickups, $110
nah, its not the end. We have a split tape coming out with 3 other Langley bands. THere is gonna be some sort of release show for that. Like mid Oct. hopefully. Ummm we really are just gonna try to jam and write songs when we can. Since Nick writes all the music we are gonna just send him lyrics.
We will hopefully have a full length(a couple old songs and some new ones) by spring/early summer, but who knows. I am trying to be pretty optimistic about the whole thing.
AS for shows we will prob only play like every couple months.

That's cool. Are you both going to practice drums or is Darren taking up drums so you guys can be a rhythm section together?
You should get a distortion pedal for your bass and do a guitar-less 3 piece with the remaining JB members with NoMeansNo vibes.
