i know i started listening to skramz in that age range but i didn't stop. I find saetia a little more over the top now but still listen to many others in the genre.

that screamo stuff was kinda okay when i was young and sad about girls, but no self respecting man should ever listen to that shit. it's depressing, boring and overall not worthwhile to listen to. if you're between 16-20 it's totally acceptable to listen to, but it's not going to make any of your problems better. and i'm not talking about whatever mtv labels as "screamo", i mean the real ish, saetia, i like myself, moss icon, etc etc etc. maybe not moss icon. but the rest of that skramz crap.

I don't have such intense feelings about it as Chad, I just dislike the word.

Chad makes a point I agree with, I feel like many of the labels used to describe music are kinda dumb, but they make communicating about bands a little bit easier, so whatever works. I also feel like while the style of bands that use a certain term may change, it doesn't put me off using the terms because I might dislike the current batch of bands using the term, because I use it in the way the term first had meaning to me.

yeah i just think skram / skramz is a funny word. i alternate between using everything depending on who i am with. screamo/skram/hardcore/emo/ whatever doesn't really matter to me. I don't really get irritated by words so oh well.

On the topic of bad "skramz" bands, what the fuck is up with that band La Dispute? Major stinkfest.

Yeah...not into them whatsoever. I ordered their split with Touche Amore, but ONLY for TA. Listened to the La Dispute side and well...too much for me.

so i don't know people that skip over all the early stuff / don't show respect to early stuff.

I think my favourite modern bands playing emo stuff of the last couple years have been In First Person and Who Calls So Loud. That double 10" is NEXT LEVEL SHIT.
