help me identify a 90`s hardcore band

i need some help trying to identify a band. all i can remember about them is that they were around in the 90`s, were californian (i`m pretttyyyy sure of this), had overtly emotional lyrics, played really brutal hardcore (i think...), they dressed like greasers (pomadours and whatnot), loved the smiths, and their singer or guitarist killed himself.
i heard a song by them once and i really dug it but i can`t remember the band name.
any idea who this might beÉ

as chad said, Life.Love.Regret is an amazing record. Definitely one of my favorite bands to come from the 90's. Unbroken in chicago got wild. I need to get my hands on one of their Morrissey t-shirt, so rad.

ps the Joy Division cover (obvious which one they do...hahha) is pretty good.

I love how in the description Jakob posted it was "Loves The Smiths" What fucking punk/hardcore/emo band from the 90's didn't love the Smiths?
