This band pretty much sums up how I feel hardcore should be. In this thread we will discuss all things Trial.

Are These Our Lives? is easily the best record to happen in the 90's. One of the top hardcore records of all time. It's fast, heavy, hard, intelligent, political etc. An Awakening is never given enough attention. Holy fuck that song is hard.
fun fact: The classical intro/outro on this album is actually a combination of melodies from each of the songs, which Tim wrote on guitar then converted it over to the violin etc. with some other musicians.

Foundation has one of the best straight edge songs ever written on it. This is not a trend.

Through The Darkest Days. This record seems to get under-rated. So fucking pissed. Cycle Of Crulty (although not a "vegan" song) is pretty much exactly my feelings on veganism and human suffering.

One of the best nights of my life:

One time, Chad sat there and talked non-stop about how amazing Job for a Cowboy were. When I brought up Trial he just rolled his eyes and muttered "poseurs".

best part of this video is when the crowd opens up before the guitars come in and a dude on the balcony says "oh jesus christ"
one of the best sets I have ever watched. also set my stage dive record that night

I don't find Trial as crucial most people in hardcore do. But i still enjoy Are These Our Lives. Maybe I just haven't listened to them enough or something.

everything else aside: the tightest musicians in hardcore, ever. not a sloppy moment in sight.

Well, when I saw them in Chicago the drummer they had wasn't doing to well. Everyone else was fucking insanely good, though.

Chad, please do us all a favor and post that epic picture of your Trial collection again.

Those lyrics are so good.

Jordan: I didn't know that about the violin parts! That's awesome! I think that's actually one of my favorite parts of the record.

I think my favorite part of Trial is that they are the quintessential sound of the NW distilled into one band. Every region has a band that does this, but man Trial did it perfect.

Chad: Sad (but true) story. I've never jammed that demo. We need to get on that asap. Falling From Grace is on TTDD aswell there for crucial edge song has not gone unmentioned ;). Also, I am pretty sure Trial is the reason we became friends.

Tambo: Yeah, I guess they wanted it so if someone hated hardcore they could still sit down, listen to the classical part and read the lyrics, and still get the feeling/message of the band
