I dunno... I mean, who doesn't like ketchup, right? apparently it's the second most popular condiment in north america (salsa being the first, but fuck that) so that's saying something.
but really, this just makes me think of a post on another messageboard that I believe was last year where an indie rock williamsburg type girl was wearing a burzum shirt in the video for her electro band and my friend accused her of liking daudi baldurs.
everything is just kevin bacon's in this adhd brain.

black metal is way to fucking way over the top and hilarious to be taken serious, but some of those albums are brilliant.

Statement totally makes sense to me. Heavy music can be good, but if you have some black metal influences, it just makes it better. Just like everything's better with ketchup.
Also, so many false Ketchup lovers. Don't appreciate the kvltivation of tomatoes.

Tambo got it.
I don't have anything against black metal but it seems like every second heavy band cites a black metal influence in their music now. Of the bands that cite the influence I'd say 10% have a legit black metal influence. The mentality seems to be if you play heavy music adding a little black metal (or saying you do) makes it better. "Black metal, it makes everything taste better!".
I personally don't think black metal is the answer to making all heavy music better.

I wonder if there isn't a band that might've influenced all those bands...

Ketchup was tastier in the '90s, but there is some pretty delicious ketchup being concocted now if you go to the right grocery stores.
