Two days early, two hours long. As the first guest on the show Cory von Bohlen, of Halo of Flies Records, talks about his label, his band (Protestant), his local Milwaukee scene, touring Europe vs. touring the USA, Scion, USPS vs. Canada Post, CDs as a dead format, and some other interesting things. The hour-long interview is bookended by two half-hour slots of music and regular programming. In lieu of this special two-hour episode, there will be no podcast next week (January 2, 2012), but will return on January 9th with an episode covering the best of 2011.

Boyd Rice interview conducted by Arvo Zylo. They discuss Whitehouse, Jello Biafra, plane crashes, noise, minimalism, the internet, art, Trekkies/Dungeons and Dragons, Hogan's Heroes, his time being homeless in Phoenix, scamming restaurants for free food, and so forth. This is a followup to the amazingly in-depth interview that was transcribed and appeared in Special Interests #6.

The Jesuit University Arvo Zylo normally broadcasts from refused to let him air this Boyd Rice interview, so myself and a handful of other radio stations/podcast have offered to air it. While Boyd Rice has been known to be a very controversial figure from time to time, there is absolutely nothing controversial about this interview and there's no reason it should have been suppressed. Absurd Exposition Podcast #12 with special guest Howard Bloom.

Howard Bloom is the founder of the Space Development Steering Committee, a former visiting scholar to NYU’s Graduate Psychology Department, author of several books; The Lucifer Principle: A Scientific Expedition Into the Forces of History, Global Brain: The Evolution of Mass Mind From The Big Bang to the 21st Century, and The Genius of the Beast: A Radical re-Vision of Capitalism, his list of credentials goes on.

On this program, Howard talks about finding your passions in life at a young age, sticking with them, and achieving goals you had for those passions while you are still young. He also talks a fair amount about space: what it can do for us, why we as humans need to get there, what’s preventing us from doing so, why the private sector appears to be the answer, and what average people like you and I can do to further its cause.
