Re: Books you are currently reading
Well I'm already vegetarian, but for health reasons (do not want chemicals in meat). I totally agree with animal rights, but I'm majoring in social work/sociology. So my concerns will always fall to people first, then the trickle down method. I will definitely do some reading up on this stuff though.

Just bought Godland Vol.1
It's got that classic Kirby style without the silver-age over-use of language.

Fahrenheit 451 is one of my favorite books, regardless of the fact I normally like sci-fi.
I'm currently reading the drivers hand book or whatever, getting ready to take my L soon.
that and I'm trying to find a copy of "Empire Of The Ants" which is harder than anticipated.

If you enjoy the book you might want to also watch the movie. The movie isn't so much an adaption of the book, but instead is the story of him writing the book, so it's an interesting companion piece.officespace wrote:Naked Lunch

i love Fahrenheit 451, i was just confused about the graphic novel. is the writing the same or is it an adaptation?AC wrote:get into it! you can borrow it if you want, the artwork is incredible, very darkKYLESTYLE wrote:i don't know what to think of this?AC wrote:KYLESTYLE wrote:i love that book. graphic novel, though???AC wrote:Fahrenheit 451 in graphic novel form - unreal!

Just read some of Schopenhauer's essays and aphorisms for school. Real depressing. The man was overbearingly contemptuous towards humanity. Had a lot of points that hit home with me though.

yeah i had the same reaction to mother night. i read it right after finishing slapstick, which is the only vonnegut i've ever disliked, and was just amazed by it. i have a chapter of it quoted in my facebook notes cuz i loved it so much.KYLESTYLE wrote:love gatsby forever.grungePIG wrote:i looooooved mother night.
