Tell me how this goes!
PEOPLE NEED TO STOP CALLING THIS AN "ABANDON" SHOW!!! I get excited then realize it's abandon all ships

(abandon is a vegan straight edge hardcore band from cali...)
It's the band Abandon from Portland( I think) who were playing the Alf House.
hm... I heard it was the metal core band. Well either way, I keep getting bummed (I am not into crust). My appologies fish!
ew, why would I be going to Abandon All Ships?

A rundown:

Medusa-for a first show, pretty good. They're a young band, and after their set I found out they've only been jamming for about a month, so I was pretty stoked. They've got a lot of possibility. They had some songs that sounded like Flux of Pink Indians (Zach pointed this out) which were definitely their better tunes. They pushed on despite some obvious mistakes, and that's really a good sign. When a band just freaks out when they fuck up, they generally don't have what it takes to keep going. I should know, I was in a few bands like that. I'm definitely curious to hear where they go from here, and would personally love it if they started adding some more jazz-influenced peace punk into their sound (I really like Zounds, basically)

Gastric Acid- This band would have ruled when I was 14.

No Eulogy- I was really happy with how our set went. It wasn't as good as our set on Thursday, but it was still tight as hell. Reece is going to have a microphone from now on, best idea. I'm especially happy because three fifths of us worked yesterday and were epically exhausted. Reece had just come back from Distort and hadn't really slept in three days (and walked from the on ramp where his bus broke down. PFR) Zach was in top shape though, so fuck that guy. Scott wants to cover Firestorm next show. I'm down.

White Ribs-These dude basically are better and better every time I see them. I love this band. They were tight, fast, and fucked up. I dug.

In Vacuo-Amazing, really. Skonki is the most hilariously awkward dude, and Noah was just stoned out of his gourd the whole night. These guys are sweet, their band is excellent, and I really like the new tunes. Traded a demo tape to them for their new material, will definitely be picking up a copy of their 12" when it comes out next. Extra points for wearing a badly-sewn down Ceremony shirt.

Overall, excellent show. Wish more kids had come inside for bands, but whatever. The kids that were there were stoked and into it. The kids outside trying and failing to be This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb were awesome, and despite themselves had a few tunes I was enjoying. Good to see Wolf and Danni. Smoked way too much dope with Mic, took forever for me to be clear headed enough to drive. Did a sketchy jaunt back into town with six or seven kids in the back of a UHaul. Ended up at Alzu's and then home. Class this morning was fucked. Punx.

Then you'll go from being lonely to wishing that everybody would just fuck off because their a bunch of fucking buzzkills going on about how 'you've got a problem" and they "just want to be their to help you". You don't need any of them. You just need drugs.

The more I think about the more I think Medusa sounded like FOPI mixed with Saetia. It would be sweet to see them on more show. Gastric Acid somehow managed to be even more awkard than Pissed Jeans, which if you've ever seen them is quite the feat. Most fun No Eulogy performance yet. Watching White Ribs is always like poetry in motion. In Vacuo weren't really my steeze.
