I dug Yellowthief but I love that sort of fancypants math grind shit. Woo yeah unnecessary time signature changes!

I can't believe I'm the first to comment on this:

Yellowtheif:
-Jazz-influenced math grind
-Two piece
-No shirts
-Black t-shirt masks

White Ribs:
-Math grind
-Two piece
-No shirts
-Black spandex masks

Every band ruled. I also love the Rat Shack. Bathroom lineups were insane. Great show.

i would say white ribs is noisier and closer to "spazzcore" like the locust and yellowthief is more "tech" and closer to bands like hella, ahleuchatistas, orthrelm and so on... both bands rule, fuck it

i didnt like it dont get me wrong. just couldnt help but make the comparisons in my head while they played. id still watch them play again.

I only saw Ahna and Yellowthief.
Ahna was pretty hyptonic in some ways. Can't believe the brutality with the bass.
Yellowthief was awesome in that "what are you fucking playing" way. Yeah there was a White Ribs "similarity" but it disappeared pretty fast for me. Both unique bands.

i liked both bands masks, i think both worked very well for them.
yellow thief's (while shirts) were reminiscent of shemaghs


where as whiteribs spandex masks make them featureless which always makes me think of the blurry heads from jacob's ladder
