VIHC Society News - Annual General Meeting

Greetings folks!

So it's that time of year again, the time where we (the VIHC society) invite you (the scene) to participate in a loose form of democracy in which we vote on things, people are elected to positions of "power", we eat punch and pie and generally just sit around and talk about how we can better our small little community.

I am not 100% positive on the date/time/place because we are JUST THAT ORGANIZED!

It will be this upcoming weekend, in my opinion Sunday February 19th in the midday/early evening would probably accommodate everyone best.

The location will likely either be the Legendary Castle OR Ebony and John's new place - Butterfly Lounge 2.0

What we need is Quorum, what is that you ask? Simply put it is 3x the amount of people as there are Directors. Meaning we need 12-15 people that are not Myself, Ebony, Scotty 2 Hotty or Troy.

There will be some form of refreshments (namely, punch and pie)

It wi take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours (depending on how long Willa plans to jibber jabber on for)

Anyone wanting to become involved in the society is free to nominate themselves for any position within our framework: President, Treasurer, Secretary (just know you're up against Ebony on that one....you've been warned) and Board of Directors.

For those of you unfamiliar with what we do, we are a Not-For profit organization. We put on Hardcore Fest as well as all-ages shows throughout the year. If you do want to get involved just know that you are held accountable for 1/4 - 1/6 (depending on how many people are on the board) of all expenses incurred throughout the year (2011 saw us each go into our pockets for at least $400 if not more)

If there's anything I might have missed, I'm sure it will be pointed out by my comrades.

I'm also hoping we can get the date/time set in stone and get this over with!

After conversing with Ebony, it appears as though Sunday the 19th won't work as we are Welcoming some jackass named Puffin back to Vic from some stupid navy thing protecting the world from terrorizers.

But be forewarned, someday SOON this will happen, and we need your co-operation and attendance
