i am pretty much obligated to say hardcore fest was good as i am not going to say a show i put on sucked.
Even if not there were some bands i dug playing and did enjoy.

If you cant derive any enjoyment from a new misfits cover then you are cleverly too punk rock for this planet and the door is to your left. Peace. Hardcore fest was awesome

Im sorta wondering if youre the guy who paid 30 bucks to flip off jerry only. sweet dude
Re: your first show ever & the best/worst shows of 2009
the point of this thread is personal opinion/enjoyment. if the person didn't like the show, it doesn't affect you, but if you start axing (like the smelly body spray) on his/her opinion, that person, or even more people, could feel less open to state their future opinions. and, in the spirit of Willa's post earlier (see, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=281), i don't believe this is a community building post.

Considering how much time and effort I put into this, along with Ebony, Pauly, Jordan and Troy, I'm gonna say no. It was a really successful fest, but if you disagree feel free not to come to this years fest, or alternatively to put on one that's better. I mean, you put on a lot of shows, right?
Also, Kyle, I get what your saying, but Pat didn't say anything all that bad. Just like graveyardstomp has the right to not like a Misfits cover, Puff has the right to disagree with her.
Although, seriously Puff, Dig Up Her Bones? Terrible song, in general.

A) Trolls usually bring the lols.
B) Even if he's serious, he's allowed to not like the VIHC fest.
C) That being said Tim only likes super-obscure screamo bands so don't take him that seriously

Annoyed is one thing, talking about "rights" and "wrongs" is another. So is making Ad Homenim arguments.
But I mean when Tim was complaining about the show during the show I felt like he wasn't opening up his perspective, and was being guarded, and I was annoyed by it. And I appreciate Willa's effort and friendliness.
Just trying to be fair in the discussion, and I think his words have a place and the reaction to them was unfair.
I liked shows1!

How so? I made neither ad homenim attacks, nor did I speak on rights/wrongs. He asked for backup on a statement I couldn't back up. I was being completely serious when I said he didn't have to come to the next one, or that he should go ahead and start his own fest. I think that, honestly, if he really didn't like it that much these are the only real options he has.
When did it become such a bad thing to defend yourself or the things you care about? I'm a little thrown off by this. OR, and this is literally something I just thought of, is this because he's your friend and you feel it's necessary to defend him? Again, completely serious here, I need to know.

One kid didn't like the fest. Big deal. That doesn't make it any less of a success or take away from anybody's hardwork. It's cool that you want to defend it, but bigger fish to fry, man.

Ah, that's not what I meant by that post. I was just trying to make a point, not necessarily berate someone. Tim can dislike the fest all he wants. That's why I said it was cool if he doesn't come. Eh, maybe I'm too tied up in the fest and just get subliminally defensive about it.
