I was into the first season, dug the premiere of the second, beat my head against the wall for the rest of S2 until the mid season finale which made up for it all.

Yeah pretty much. Rather enjoyed season 1, season 2 had it's moments but definetly think they ran out of ideas a couple of times. Season 2 finale was pretty good, the twist of finding Sophia in the barn of Walkers was a good ending.

Re: The Walking Dead
wasn't really a twist, it was pretty obvious they had to go that route. the reason the mid-season finale makes up for it all is because now we can move the fuck on.

I DIDN'T SEE THAT SHIT COMING. I thought by the minutes before the reveal it was going to be the wife of Hershel. When I saw it was Sophia, my mouth was agape and I nearly threw my laptop out the window in shock.

she wasnt dead in the comics why should anyone expect it. I still like the show.grind/bro wrote:I DIDN'T SEE THAT SHIT COMING. Re: The Walking Dead
overall i'm half unhappy and half satisfied with the 2nd season. i feel like there was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much unneeded dialogue and not enough zombie action.
i still haven't read any of the comics. this may be a retarded question, but are there graphic novel/compilations of these?

Re: The Walking Dead
Yes. You can get smaller soft cover trades that compile a handful of issues each (I believe there's 13 of them), or you can get larger hardcover versions with more issue per (I think there's 4 of those).keep_it_real wrote: are there graphic novel/compilations of these?

Re: The Walking Dead
from what I heard they stopped following the comics pretty early on. if that's true, then what else would you expect? oh ho hum, this little girl is safe and sound after days on end in the middle of nowhere with ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE. like she has the life knowledge/common sense of how to survive? I'm pleased she was a zombie and they killed her. would have had much more sour feelings towards the show if she was fine.Human-Demise wrote:she wasnt dead in the comics why should anyone expect it. I hope Hershel's breakdown makes him a fucking mean machine and kicks them off his farm.
Re: The Walking Dead
There are similarities to the story (ie. the farm is in both the comic and show) but they do their own thing with the show while loosely following the comic's storyline.shakehurst wrote:from what I heard they stopped following the comics pretty early on... In the comic they kill off/fuck up characters really liberally, so the for the show to be precious with too many of the characters would not do the spirit of the Walking Dead much justice.

Re: The Walking Dead
shut up. of course I know realistically she'd be dead, but it's not it's a show, the writers can do whatever they want. any ways all I meant was this season was closer to the comics then last season, so as much as I expected it, it still seamed a little bit surprising.shakehurst wrote:from what I heard they stopped following the comics pretty early on. if that's true, then what else would you expect? oh ho hum, this little girl is safe and sound after days on end in the middle of nowhere with ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE. like she has the life knowledge/common sense of how to survive?
