I HAD FUN. EVERYONE WAS GREAT.
Re: Dangers show March 18th
I'm confused. he said at the show that he didn't need a microphone because he screamed loud enough on his own or something. so why was there a microphone?

The show in Vancouver was absolutely insane! How was the show in Victoria?

i think the head count was about 70ish? saw lots of faces i didnt recognize
dangers played a good mix of old and new which was nice
i only saw 1 can inside that was found and we quickly hid it away in my bag so hopefully it was all smooth with the owner
bubba has a ton of rad pictures from the show, i only got a few i was too busy losing my voice

He also said some exceptionally stupid things at the Vancouver show apparently. Dude's head is up his ass.tylerp wrote:I'm confused. he said at the show that he didn't need a microphone because he screamed loud enough on his own or something. so why was there a microphone?

He said he doesn't respect women who choose to be house wives because they should be out doing something with their lives, and that he respects people who choose to commit suicide because they know they don't deserve their life and they're proactive about it.reece wrote:Stupid how?

Re: Dangers show March 18th
whoa, opinion time. I respect people who commit suicide and aren't doing it because of a history of "mental illness" (that's a whole other tangent though, huh?), I think it's a choice that should be up to anyone and I don't follow the belief that life is always valuable/important/worth living/whatever like everyone assumes. some people have had enough of life and want to end it early. and it's not like there aren't enough people in the world. I could totally understand someone having an intelligent thought process that concludes in desiring to die. I don't have the same opinion as Al though, the way you say it, it seems that his opinion is more "good riddance" and that's not cool.
but anyone should be allowed to choose whatever they want to do with their lives, within reason. some people want to be a wife and have children. some want to travel. some want to explore career choices. some want to live off the grid. good for all of them.
I don't 100% agree with Al but I respect the energy he puts into his band and his views. I don't think he liked my sarcastic/not-"serious" life observations that I can't help but make, when he was staying at our place. just a vibe I got. everyone thinks different and I wish more people would try to reach a "you think differently than me and that's okay" conclusion about lots of things.

Re: Dangers show March 18th
When he went on about how "human beings are all garbage blah blah blah" I didn't clap and cheer along with the few that did in the crowd. That kind of thinking is very immature. It's kind of contradictory though for him to say that considering I think he said he was an elementary school teacher?Andrew wrote:He said he doesn't respect women who choose to be house wives because they should be out doing something with their lives, and that he respects people who choose to commit suicide because they know they don't deserve their life and they're proactive about it.reece wrote:Stupid how?
Re: Dangers show March 18th
I also think there are certainly circumstances where choosing to end your life are valid, but I don't think those circumstances were addressed and I think making a brief statement about your opinion on suicide between songs at an all ages show without any further discourse on it is foolish. The cases where suicide is a valid choice are very few and far between and not the specific subject Al addressed.tylerp wrote:whoa, opinion time. I don't want to take anything from Dangers work ethic or enthusiasm for what they do. I don't think Al having some opinions I think are dumb makes them a bad band, but it does make me take his lyrics/message with a more critical eye.
I'm for being able to accept many people's different opinions, but there are some I won't put in the "you think differently than me and that's ok category".
