Have any of you VIHC Fest organizers found out when Sound and Fury fest is? It was the July 31st/Aug 1st weekend last year. Might put a dent in getting bands for the VIHC fest if S+F is the same weekend.

It was that last year and maybe again this year. Last year we changed our weekend so it wouldn't be the same. We are doing it regardless when S+F is and feel it won't interfere with the quality fest we will be able to put on. Not all the bands we are going to be asking are going to play S+F.

A few exciting things to announce in the Sound and Fury camp:

Just to back up what Troy said, we're a small fest that focuses on Canadian and Northwest American bands. We get a few bands from outside that region, but the majority come from there, so the bands we want generally aren't effected by S&F. And, on the other end of the spectrum, we are way the hell too small to effect S&F negatively. I think it's one of those things where we can co-habit the same weekend without treading on peoples shoes. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for us to get so big we need to start thinking of other fests, and how we and they will be effected, but honestly we're not there yet.

meh, we spent alot of time discussing this. and in the end... it only affected deathwish bands, and one or two california bands. we are not worried about it at all. the only sad part is that jordan is going to sound and fury. *cry

meh, we spent alot of time discussing this. and in the end... it only affected deathwish bands, and one or two california bands. we are not worried about it at all. the only sad part is that jordan is going to sound and fury. *cry

I though you wur cool and down for vihc but now your troo colors show because instead you are go to sound a fyoory fest in californya instead of local fest in your home town where everybody love you. I can't believe we mad you mascot when instead you go to fest for spiders in MERICA i bet you love it so much you probably marry a bald eagle or statue of liberty or old failthful or a carrot or something. even my 28 year old room mate can't belive this and he not even know what you did i saw him block your stagedive at a show once HAHA! You said you down for VIHC but then you go to austraaaaaaaala for 20 years and then go to MERICA when you get back to hang out with gorge buuuuuush (stupid spider rat man) at a diffrent festival south of the border. I wish you come to VIHC more than anything in this WHOLE DAMN WOOOOOOORLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!. well i hav to go now cuz i have better things to do than worry about which fest YOU go to!

so today some people and i were like "vic fest is awesome, wonder what's going on with that this year?" so i decided to sign up for this board. really stoked there is so much discussion right now. bands from the area i'd like to see:

putrid brew
power
sojourner
ill intent
tongue tied
keep it clear

some more "left field" shit

unlearn (matt fucking haydon. d-beat)
unfun (jawbreakerish)
^^^ both those bands are playing vic this weekend. dig it.
infamy (i play in this band. early 80's style uk hardcore. discharge/varukers/icons/antisect)
swallowed whole (matt fucking haydon. cursed. currently jamming with this bizarro wizard guitarist who they met cause he's dating our next door neighbor)
also i play in persistence of time, we are very much hoping you'll have us back this year. we have a grip of new songs that i think rule. also matt haydon is my roommate, and our life is very funny right now. also we are coming to vic this weekend. party time?
