earlier today it struck just how disappointedly lonely ive been lately, I guess i miss companionship more than i let on, and dont like love as much as i claim.

sorry about this, Im not actually asking for help, or the standard "you just need to put your self out there more", I'm not asking for pity either, mainly I post this cause I wanted to vent, also i'm curious if any body else on here is lonely, (or bitter on the out side, covering a soft goo of lonely, ie:gibas)

Usually people that arent currently in love either fiend for it, or like it. But alot of people in actuality are somewhere in between, they just dont like to admit it. I myself fear it, so I stear very clear of it. I think what you need to do is spend alot of time doing things that you enjoy, something that makes you super happy.. I find this distracting, and it works for alot of people. Just really focus on that and you won't even notice that you were feeling that lonley. And then all of a sudden you will meet somebody, weather it is a friend or more. Trust me.

To be honest with you that is not entirely accurate. Attraction, for many people, comes from confidence. If you find something you're good at, and perfect it in your own way, people will be drawn to you. Ebony kind of touched on that. She's right. Being a "vocalist in some shitty metalcore/screamo" band isn't necessarily a formula for meeting potential mates, it's that some people believe in it so much that they trick themselves into being this confident person. I remember a guy I used to know who was totally obsessed with working out at the gym. Sometimes he would ask me to tag along, and I wasn't really into it. He then criticized me asking if I "actually wanted to meet girls", as if that was the only ostensible way for one to go about dating. It could very well be that his going to the gym is attractive to some women, but I've met a large share of members of the fairer sex that don't find jacked up dudes attractive whatsoever. However, he was building his own confidence through going to the gym. He really believed in something. Giving it priority, and just the right amount of priority too that it made him feel as if he was able to attract people. There are fundamental mechanics in attaining your own confidence in this world, and it is finding your own niche and sticking with it. You really have to go for it and prioritize because it sets in motion things around your life that give you a lot of options (not just in sexual partners).

Oh and you Alexis, do not want "underage scene tail". It often comes with possible legal troubles or horrifying sexual trauma.

seriously though, I know this feeling and it sucks. this is unrelated but on the topic of social companions... today I was realizing that the core "friend group" people lump me into are only people I see once or twice a month. and that I spend more time with my girlfriend's friends who are probably only temporary. and that I pretty much never see anyone I was tight with in high school. so what does that mean? I don't know. I feel like something sucks about it. maybe I should get out more. maybe I should branch out and spend time with some people I don't see. maybe the problem is with myself. WHAT DO PEOPLE EVEN SEE? WHO AM I?
