I posed a similar question here a while back and some great recommendations were sent my way.
I know we just talked about this on the weekend, but are you vegan or vegetarian?
Troy took us to a great breakfast place for vegan huevos rancheros one of our visits, and there's Lotus Pond and Green Cuisine downtown. If you've never been to Green Cuisine you should try it for sure.

BENGAL LOUNGE!
it's in the empress hotel. they have a curry buffet. I recall it being pretty expensive ($25?) but I have one of those "entertainment books" with a good-for-whenever coupon of two for the price of one. the decor is amazing unless you're vegan and not down with a giant tiger skin or whatever. and the curries are damn good. I was especially fond of the lamb curry. they are shockingly mild though. which is good for a buffet since it's hard to pack in some deadly-spicy curry.

That's so weird, I posted about Sabri's awhile back and it didn't go up. Huh.
But Kyle is right, Sabri's is awesome. I think it's like $11.99 for all you can eat, vegan friendly buffet (their naan has yogurt, unfortunately...although I'm told that's why they're fucking delicious). I have destroyed my stomach many a time to Sabri's.

Then you'll go from being lonely to wishing that everybody would just fuck off because their a bunch of fucking buzzkills going on about how 'you've got a problem" and they "just want to be their to help you". You don't need any of them. You just need drugs.

If I ever go out for Indian food, I only ever eat at the Maharaja, on broad beside Ditch records It looks like a dive but its fucking d-lish. Also, the guy that runs it is kind of like the soup nazi so don't ask him any questions.

this place! the food isn't bad but the people there are so mean. once I went in with a friend and nobody was in there eating. we asked if one of us could eat the buffet and the other just watch without eating any. they were pissed. it wasn't even a no. it was like "NO YOU CANNOT DO THAT YOU ARE SCAMSTERS GET OUT"ebony wrote:If I ever go out for Indian food, I only ever eat at the Maharaja, on broad beside Ditch records It looks like a dive but its fucking d-lish. Last time I ate at Sabri, I came the closest to puking on the table from overeating that I've ever been.
Re: Good Indian food in Victoria?
you cant sit in there and not eat, the old man will just stare at you and make you uncomfortable to the point where you will eat anyways. and if you ask to see a menu he might kick you out. this is a maybe though.tylerp wrote:this place! the food isn't bad but the people there are so mean. once I went in with a friend and nobody was in there eating. we asked if one of us could eat the buffet and the other just watch without eating any. they were pissed. it wasn't even a no. it was like "NO YOU CANNOT DO THAT YOU ARE SCAMSTERS GET OUT"ebony wrote:If I ever go out for Indian food, I only ever eat at the Maharaja, on broad beside Ditch records It looks like a dive but its fucking d-lish. its a buffet, you put your stuff down at your table of choice, let him fill your water, go get a plate, help yourself to food. dont ask questions! you sit down, eat, if you want more leave your plate at the table and get a new one. its all you can eat for 11 bucks so just eat until you cant breathe because they will force more food on you anyways. if you get used to the routine he wont like you. he LOVES me and friskey, we go there once every few weeks.
