I'm late on this one, but Ian Davies gets the blue ribbon. Da Tandoor is in fact the best place for indian cuisine in Victoria.
Re: Good Indian food in Victoria?
Anyone here good at making Indian food at home? And I don't mean microwaving pre-made packs of bombay potatoes.

That's cool Chad. I've never had the fortune of having a good home made indian meal.
Re: Good Indian food in Victoria?
Has anyone tried Kuku's Indian food mart on Burnside Rd East? I also hear there is a decent Indian food mart in Quadra village tho I have been un-able to find it.
+1 to Da Tandoor on Fort st.. expensive but good.

Re: Good Indian food in Victoria?
I've seen that Quadra one. when I make indian food, it's just with whatever I want to throw in it and patak's spice pastes. I am a poser. but it tastes damn good every time.
also how much fun are papadams to make? SO FUN

Dude, take her class, that'd rule! Does she cook with meat? Does she charge for the class?dalamar501 wrote:One of my work friends who moved here from india offers indian cooking classes. she invited me to one recently but i worked that night.Andrew wrote:Anyone here good at making Indian food at home? That's a pretty cool deal. If she was local I'd try to get her to do an all vegan class for 4.dalamar501 wrote: When she does the class she charges $40 for food supplies etc.

Just talked with Vinu at work. Starting in Sept she is now going to be doing the classes at Oaklands Community Centre near my house (which is sweet she was originally just doing them from her place)Andrew wrote:I'm down to do this. Anyways i asked her and she said she could do a class of all vegetarian dishes. she started talking about awesome veg breakfast dishes etc.
