Seylynn Hall 10th Anniversary with Reserve 34, Thibault, ROS and Oneyedjacks. Show was awesome.
Seylynn Hall last show with Woolworm, Ghost House, Set to Go, Healthy Students and Circles. It was sad to see Seylynn go.
Blink 182 a couple years ago. Felt like I was 13 again.

I'm going to go with..
1) Trials first reunion in Seattle, October 2005. Here's a sweet clip I took.. ha ha
2) Stay Gold's reunion, also in 2005. I tried remembering the line up. I don't know. Sinking Ships probably.
3) Fugazi in Regina, Sask. 2001.
4) Honestly, any time a Fat Wreck Chords or Epitaph band came through town between the years 1997 and 2002. No Use For a Name, Strung Out, Propagandhi, Sick of it All, Afi, Bouncing Souls, Good Riddance.. I think I had more energy then. everything was awesome. always. Almosty always at U of R. Will was probably at them all.
5) Cro-mags and h2o in San Francisco earlier this year. I guess I'll add that I was singing along to every fucking word for h2o, but was only inside for cro mags when they played hard times. There I said it. I'm not proud.
6) This Go It Alone show at Seylynn Hall stands out to me, the one where Lucas had just gotten better from falling off the edge of the world. Everyone was there, and in good spirits. I remember great vibes that night, so I'll put that up on my list.
I guess that's it. I don't know. That's probably too many. My thai food is here.

did we even see formaldehyde junkies??? i thought we got there later. i can't remember though, that night was such a fog.ZACH ATTACK wrote:Day two of the Fucked Up Hidden World release weekend

9 Shocks Terror (last show ever)
Mind Eraser and Pissed Jeans played the first day, which was also pretty sweet. Mind Eraser had the single most violent and terrifying (in an awesome sort of way) set/mosh pit I've ever seen. Pissed Jeans are the most awkward band ever.
i think that this show was pretty unremarkable, considering how awesome the night was before. ASIDE from 9 shocks, who were insane. drop dead were so overrated as a headliner.
pissed jeans are still pretty awkward live, but that occasion is 100% ingrained into my memory as the most awkwardly amazing performance i've ever seen in my entire life.
it's funny because at that point i was convinced that criminal damage was not a good band at all (tech difficulties, etc etc) but they were nothing short of breathtaking at the DISTORT FEST 07 in van, which is another one of my favourite shows of all time. did anybody else go to that? seemed like i was one of the few non crusts there. i had a sign that said "got weed?".

Other memorable shows:
Brutal Knights at the Underdog in Peterborough, I think Ninja Highschool played too and I stage dove off a PA stack, which isn't that impressive except the ceiling was only like 7.5' high and I punched a bunch of holes in it. UTP. Either way Brutal Knights are on of the best punk/hardcore bands around and the energy at that show was unbleivable. Ninja Highschool are also pretty sweet if you like youth crew raps.
Fucked Up, Iron Age, Kill Decibel, Hatred Surge at Adrift Skatepark. This was seriously one of my favourite venues and I think this was the first show I went to there. Either way it was one of those shows where I was still relatively new to to hardcore and it shattered my ideals of what was possible to do with punk rock.
Cursed/Maximum RnR/I like Sally at the Trashetiria. This was in 2005 I think so I was still underage and the show was at a bar but luckily Nick PRK was promoting it and he snuck me in (which he did for me tons of times, one of the many reasons why he has solidest dude status). Dee had just joined I like Sally on vocals and they were still doing their melodic kinda dealth metal thing which I thought was a lot more interesting than when they turned in to a lame and watered down converge rip off. Maximum R'n'R playe a style of punk rock that sounded like Turbonegro but on a lot more amphetamine and like, and then Cursed Played. They were touring in support of Two and this wasn't one of those shows that shattered my ideals of what was possible to do with punk rock. This was THE show that shattered everything I knew about punx. I'm pretty sure the next day I cut off my mohawk and threw away all my Exploited CDs. My entire world view changed over night. I had just seen Cursed. Everything else that I thought was punk was now obsolete. Their performance that night is the reason I'm doing anything I'm doing now. I could go on about the ramifications this show had my life forever, but all you really need to know is that it changed my life.

Re: Best show ever - post yours
LETS SEE:
We'll do this in chronological order. There are also a lot. Sorry. I've been really lucky and seen some killer shows. Also, somewhat fuzzy on these dates so if you went to the same tour or something and know I'm wrong just lemme know.
1998: Fear Factory/System of a Down/Hed PE
Okay, so yeah the lineup for this show sucked. No question. But at the time, they were my favorite bands (accept Hed PE...ugh, never into that band) and this was the first heavy show I ever went to. The energy of that place was actually pretty amazing, and while this show has been eclipsed many times over it holds a special place in my heart because this is where I really started getting super stoked on heavy and extreme music.
2000: Krazy Fest 3 (Boysetsfire, The Enkindels, Time in Malta, Reach the Sky, Brothers Keeper, Dillinger Escape Plan with Dmitri MInikakis still as front man, AFI, Suicide Machine, etc. etc. etc.)
This was the first hardcore show I ever went to.
2001: Converge, American Nightmare, PlanesMistakenForStars.
I talked about this one in the music discussion thread. Still one of the best shows I've ever seen. In the basement of a rave club.
2001: Sick of It All, Death by Stereo, Hope Conspiracy, Boy Sets Fire
2001: Krazy Fest 4 (Botch, Hope Conspiracy, American Nightmare, Boysetsfire, Dillinger Escape Plan with Sean Ingram from Coelesce on vocals, Saves the Day, etc. etc. etc.)
2001: Poison the Well, Martyr AD
Wasn't too into Poison the Well, SUPER into Martyr AD
2002: Murder City Devils, Scared of Chaka
2003: Sick of It All, Blood for Blood, Most Precious Blood, Where Eagles Dare
(Three year period of being into really pathetic fashion core bullshit)
2006: Champions last show. Not my favorite band, but got to see The Helm, Ceremony, Internal Affairs, as well as a shitload of others. Good weekend.
2008: Lewd Acts.
2009: Chicago. What Jordan said, plus Ringworm, Disembodied, Unbroken...FUCK. Such a good weekend.
There have been a shitload more, but these are the ones that come right to mind immediately.

that cursed show also had MARE, anybody remember them???? they went over about as well as you could expect, sike. nobody liked them. too bad because they're alright if you're into leather couches and hash. the one thing i remember is that only about 40 people came. it's funny that cursed is such an internet hype band now, but when they played, it wasn't unusual to have only 20 kids show up. i had the pleasure of seeing and promoting them a number of times, and was pretty sad when they broke up.
zach do you remember that first brutal knights show, at grassroots???? they played with vampire beach babes, a band with fake instruments. they sucked, but brutal knights really reshaped the way i felt about rock and roll. nick flanagan had a giant booger on his neck the entire set, and it amazed me almost as much as the music did.
and i'll add, after seeing somebody post up the recent cro-mags sets, i will admit they are for SURE one of the best current bands to see live. they killed it during last year's FU weekend. i was really drunk and lost my glasses in the pit, and then found them. krishna luck!

I remember being old enough to go to bars when Mare played, and I was most definitely underage when I saw cursed for the first time. Anyways, I remember a bunch of guys I went to highschool with showing up During Mare's set belligerently drunk and trying to start a mosh pit and getting really confused when nobody else wanted to join in.keep_it_real wrote:i think you're getting shows mixed up pal. maximumrnr didn't play that one, but they did play with i like sally on another occasion at the trash....(*edit* maybe they did play that one? i'll look for a flyer somewhere)ZACH ATTACK wrote: Cursed/Maximum RnR/I like Sally at the Trashetiria.
