What do you want to get out of moving?
Re: Where should I move.
Well I have lived here for pretty much my entire life. Fresh start?

Anything beyond that? What i mean is, for example, do you desire to move somewhere that you can play music? If so that'll eliminate some places. Or scuba dive, that'll eliminate some places. That sort of thing.

Maybe not play music, for sure enjoy the underground music scene. I just wanna hear people opinions on places they have been and it might fuel me to do something interesting with my life.

If you're just looking for change and to see some things I'd get a one year travellers work visa and go to Europe. I'd particularly like to try living in Norway.
If I had to move tomorrow (within Canada) specifically to play music I would move to Edmonton. Great scene, great people playing music that interests me. I'd be happy to try living in Victoria too. I know it's old news to you, but I really enjoy being in your city.
Toronto I love visiting, but would not like to live there. But I spent a lot of time there and I'm over big cities now. If you're craving a more vibrant city life then Toronto may be just the ticket.
Can you speak french?

Not a word.
I thought Montreal too because it seems pretty hip.
I thought Edmonton or Calgary because of all the sweet bands.
I have dual citizenship with Great Britain because i was born there, so i could easily work and live in Europe.

There are some amazing parts of Quebec, but not speaking french could make them a drag.reece wrote:Not a word.

If you have dual citizenship with GB that'd kinda answer the question for me. Maybe you should save up and try going there for a few weeks to see what you think of it and if you like it take the plunge and move there. I think living in Ireland or Scotland would be amazing too.
I do not recommend living in Calgary. Again, for me, ok place to visit, but the overall vibe of that city seems bad to me.

Re: Where should I move.
come to vancouver so i can start a band with someone who likes slint and drive like jehu and shellac and joy division... but not. because its retardedly expensive here.
a couple friends have bailed to toronto and have said its really cool so far. cheaper rent, good punk scene ( and a short drive to detroit, philly, ny(?)) and interesting people
granted i've heard the same thing about edmonton. a friend moved there and had a band going in a week. plus bart records.
