Show was tons of fun. Tons of people out for a Wed night.
Tongue Tied:great as always. New song(s?)sounded tight. Awesome Nirvana cover
Cuckolds:Matt Smith!! It was good. Actually rreally good.
Lush Veg:No standing with your thumbs up your asses fucking move. The Allllll mighty Dave Mac FtW.
Vacant State: Fun set. Lots of kids moshing. Even Dave Mac did. Jakob got punched in the face by Chad(not the Chad on this site). Really great. They need to play more showssszz
Devotion:HEAVY!!!!! Too hot in the room for me as I was feeling sick
Overall great night. Sold 40 dollahs in records. Moshed. Got a ride home from Bong and listened to Yaphet Kotto/Smashing Pumpkins/others good ride home. Nice to see TROY!! Island punxxxxx

Tongue Tied: slick set, bummer about the tech difficulties. hunters vocals needed to be louder but it was all good. nirvana cover=slayed
Cuckolds: WHYYYYY ARE THEY BREAKING UP?? FUCK
Lush Veg: good shit. little less energy than the alfhouse show, granted no one was moving for hte first couple songs. great pep talk from dave mac. he needs to coach junior hockey or something. warren threw me at people.
Vacant State: fuck i love this band. fuuuuuck. i sacrificed my frenulum to the mosh.
Devotion: i was rinising blood off my face and trying to find cold beverages for most of his set, but the songs that i caught were tight. i haven't been down with southern hardcore since grade 10! props!
troy from the island came and therefore it was a big deal, and despite my face's set back and less moshing than in stride it was a super fun night!
now everyone at emily carr thinks i'm hard as fuck!
pics comin soon

Re: Sept 22nd Vacant State, Lush Veg, Devotion (first show)
my thoughts on the show:
bung tied: I dont know if people are just being nice because I post here but i felt like our set was really off. maybe it was because I was dead tired and my stomach wasnt agreeing with me during our set. mic cable problems serious killed the vibes during our set. oh and we covered territorial pissings by nirvana. that was cool
cuckolds: before they played i had a vegan cupcake and it totally made my stomach not feel like shit anymore. this was my first time seeing cuckolds and sadly it was their last show. It was really good seeing matt smith do whatever he wanted during the set and being in his own groovy little world. wish i could have seen this band more than once.
lush veg: D mac has brought the sacred art of mosh calls to a new level with his mosh speech. really dig this band alot
vacant state: this was their first show in a little while, stomping was in full effect. love this band too much! jakobs frendulum RIP
devotion: so tight and serious headbanging. I dont like the idea of this band being "southern hardcore" its pretty much just if you drove damnation AD headfirst into soundgarden. great vibe. was suprised to see them play mostly songs not on the lp. my only complaing is that they didnt play "the only way", its great to see kram on the mic again

Re: Sept 22nd Vacant State, Lush Veg, Devotion (first show)
i enjoyed this show.
it ruled.
late start to the show it seemed
tongue tied. really enjoyed your guys set. could see possibly why you said it was off with the mic problems killing the set part way through. i don't think i know any words to that cover even though i knew you were going to play it.
Cuckolds. Into it. mattsmith is hilarious.
lush veg. really enjoyed this set. Had no idea what they would sound like. davemac kind of pushpunched my chest during an early song, hunter somersaulted into my knee and Andy dragged me across the pit one song and i landed on my hand awkwardly. My hand has been swollen since. It was massive last night. Would see this band again.
Vacant State. Was outside for the start of their set. Feelin out my hand to see if it was broken? then watched from the door.
Devotion. Why i traveled for this show. Fuck Yes. New songs rage. kept to the front side. I don't think it was that hot in the venue...

Kram, Ao (drums in ON), Adam (bass in Not Sorry), Beau on guitar (bass in Shook Ones) and Birdman on guitar (not sure what bands he's been in).

I gotta say, it's nice to see actual diversity start seeping into hardcore (at least musically, and at least in the northwest). There are a lot of very different bands operating now a days in Northern Cali/Oregon/Washington/BC and they all seem to get along and work together for the most part. I dig.

Birdman was only in the band for a couple practices and is long gone. The other guitarist is Sean who also plays bass in So Adult.Andrew wrote:dalamar501 wrote:i could only name 2/5(obvs Kram and Aaron) and 2 more looked familiar and the other guy didn't know who he was.keith. wrote:so who fills out the devotion live band?

I've only really listened to "bastard son of affluence blues" all the way through and i wasn't really paying attention to the set, that description REALLY makes me want to give the lp a spin. if chad ever follows up on the unbroken listening party you should roll in with that sucker. if you have it.age of quarrel wrote: devotion: so tight and serious headbanging. hmmm
Tongue Tied - didn't really get to watch them as I was trying to remedy mic chord issues/work the door
Cuckolds - Great to see matt smith do his thing, to bad it is over already
Vacant State - Band rages. they got a good response, but I think they deserve better.
Devotion - Best Cock Rock band in Hardcore.
