Word man, next time I'm out there we will do just that! I should also really get on replacing my Asunder longsleeve with a larger size, since I bought a size small when I saw em when I was at my skinniest (which was weird even then because I ALWAYS buy longsleeves larger then my t shirt sizes), and it's just a little too tight on me. Crucial fucking shirt too.
Also, sorry but Martyrdod is really not the best example of the genre.

Man, I've liked d-beat as long as I've liked every other kind of hardcore, so I've an informed opinion. You're entitled to disagree with it, but I don't buy that you know enough more than me to dismiss it.Hollow wrote: Also, sorry but Martyrdod is really not the best example of the genre.

Oh, sorry, I thought it was clear that was just an opinion. Didn't mean to make it sound like I was talking down to you.

Re: d-beat
It's funny because there are hundreds of dis bands literally and not all of them are d - beat. I have to put this in here but Integrity are NOT D - beat and frankly are terrible ( I lived in Cleveland for 10 years and they changed band members every 5 min. most of those people were in MUCH better bands than Integrity) In my opinion the Japanese do D - beat the best with Disclose being at the top of that list (with Sweden as a close second), No Fucker is really good too.

I lived in Cincinnati for 11 years and Integrity are the best band to come out of Cleveland, followed by Ringworm.littlefish wrote: I have to put this in here but Integrity are NOT D - beat and frankly are terrible ( I lived in Cleveland for 10 years and they changed band members every 5 min. most of those people were in MUCH better bands than Integrity)
Most of the stuff post-Seasons in the Size of Days is pretty garbage, though. Aaron Melnick was the key ingredient in that band.
Also, since you're from Ohio (or at least lived there for a while) we shall now go back and forth naming truly awful Cincinnati bands:
Suffocate Faster
Skin Curtain
YOUR TURN.

Re: d-beat
lol at somebody mentioning no fucker. did not expect that at all. they got reaaaaaaaaal harshed when my friend asked them for weed.
i've been really diggin on the impalers lately. it's a band with some dudes from both mammoth grinder and hatred surge doing blown out d-beat tunes.
while i can't say i love d-beat, it can be excellent in small to medium doses. i can't get down with skitsystem at all, but warcry and totalitar rule. it seems like alot of this music is in clusters outside of where i'm at, so i rarely get to see it live.
oh shit. forgot to mention CONTAGIUM, from the east coast. are they d-beat? they rule.

Contagium aren't really d-beat but they're one of the best crust bands going right now and awesome people.

As opposed to metal bands in their profound originality using unreadable symmetric logos.Human-Demise wrote:i like how besides the trend of starting the name with dis- that a few bands just use letters from the discharge logo and rearrange them. ugh.
