Re: currently listening to.
yeah the mob are 100% worth the hype. i've seen em 3-4 times in the past year and every time it's been a real pleasure. some of the best between song banter plus the collaborative effort of some of boston's best, it's no joke man. they rule.
also, i just saw free spirit, and am now a fan. i heard the demo initially and passed it off as nothing much, but having seen them live, they also deserve the props.

Seriously so heavy.
I play bass. I play guitar. I do both poorly. What's up.
Re: currently listening to.
Backed! Nomos is rad and Immaculada is one of my favourite releases of the year. Both bands are playing in Vancouver in January, so that's a show I may actually travel (a short distance) for.keep_it_real wrote:

lately:
hasil adkins - achy breaky ha ha ha
bo diddley - go bo diddley
waylon jennings - leaving town
lefty frizzel - american originals
nuggets compilation
patsy cline - the patsy cline story
dusty springfield - a girl called dusty
also this kind of unorganized mix of 1930's traditional pop and big band stuff i downloaded with rudy vallee, ted weems, benny goodman and some other guys.
glad you found that almanac singers album kyle i totally forgot to send it to you. thats also a favorite.
mostly old country/blues/soul, me and my roommate spend most of our time sitting in the kitchen playing cards, smoking and drinking and they seem to go together pretty well.

Re: currently listening to.
EDIT: After looking at the order of shows ( . . . Olympia, Vancouver, then Seattle), I realized that they are probably playing Vancouver, WA. Not Vancouver, BC.Fish wrote:Whoa, do you know when/where this is happening?Brydon wrote: Both bands are playing in Vancouver in January,

The album reminds me a lot of Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult. Anyway, in my top 5 for the year for sure.
