I know Venue does do some AA+ bar shows, but I guess Killing Joke wouldn't have the young peeps draw so it might not be AA.

I thought about this and realized I was thinking about whatever this place was before it was called Venue. I've never seen a show there under the new name/management, I have no idea what their deal is.

Not gonna lie, I really like Killing Jokes new album. It's pretty heavy.

Are you referring to Absolute Dissent (which just came out), or the ep they put out a couple months ago?

I'm listening to Absolute Dissent now and it's not doing it for me. I think there's some cool riffs snuggled into some meh songs. Overall though the record misses the mark for me. It feels like they want to make music like they used to but can't figure out why it doesn't come out the same as it used to. Plus the gamut of styles is a miss for me too. One song is metal, another industrial, another pop, another dub... it's cool that they were ambitious in writing, but I don't feel like it came together.

With tickets for tonight's show being $20 plus service fees (aka $27) and this tour supporting Absolute Dissent, I'm now leaning hard towards not going. Seems like I'd be paying $27 for only a few songs I'd be stoked on.
