so pretty sounding. only the last song has semblances of metal, but it doesn't really matter, even if it's soft the song writing is masterful.

Seriously this album is so heavy. I think it's one of my favorite hardcore/metalcore albums by bands along the lines of Cursed etc. It's pretty much the perfect length in my opinion and every song crushes. I should see what those guys are doing if they're still in Montreal...

last time i saw barn burner (late 09?) they had copies of the black ships lp. as far as i know that band has been done for a long time.

some serious death metalish music, a little on the core side in parts, very technical, catchy, have some serious chuggah parts. came with a dvd about the band thats very powerful, the part about the bus crash, pretty touching.

Seriously can't get enough of this record. I think my friend Russell put it best when he said it sounds like a mash of Immolation and Cult of Luna (which is kind of a weird description but makes total sense when you're jamming it).

ulcerate rules, totally the isis/neurosis of death metal.
