ATTN: Anyone in Bands.
I am putting together a compilation for the venue. I would like anyone in bands that is willing to shoot me(us) a song for free with no expectation of being paid for it to get in touch with me, either through this thread or by email. PM me for my email address.
This is going to be printed on CD and sold at shows, from any stores such as *black raven or the *AU store that is willing to help out. all the money(every last cent) is going towards the venue fund to open up and make this city sweeter. We already have tracks promised to us by Compound Terror, Mendozza, No Eulogy, Northern and possibly Watcher.
This could end up being a great snapshot of the scene right now and will definitely make it easier for us to get going.
Let me know what you can do!
*neither stores have been asked yet. they are examples only.

Haha, I like how you walking into the room and telling us were on it counts as our promise.

When? Not sure when Promises is recording again, but we have plans to record again.
I play bass. I play guitar. I do both poorly. What's up.
Re: ATTN: Anyone in Bands.
I think my band would be down with this and we could sneak in an extra track during the recording sesh
oh wait, Watcher is already in the thread. well SOMEONE assumed correctly about how I roll.

Alexis, yes, your band can probably get in on this, though the recordings should be professional or at least semi-pro.
tyler/nick, yes.

when is up in the air. i'll be putting it together as fast as I can, so it could be as early as a week or two and as late as about a month. i doubt it will take a month though.

ive been helping my friend chuck record his one man project, would he be able to get a song on this?

Re: ATTN: Anyone in Bands.
does his band play live? has his band ever played live? is it one dude? this compilation is going to be for active bands. we want people to buy this to help the venue get on it's feet. the fact that you say "my friend chuck" instead of "insert band name here" does not bode well.Human-Demise wrote:ive been helping my friend chuck record his one man project, would he be able to get a song on this?

saw your mail kevin.. would definitely be willing to donate tracks from any bands i've been in.
is it only active bands you are wanting to put on?

Re: ATTN: Anyone in Bands.
awesome, yeah, for this one, active bands only. nomad still counts because you were active very shortly ago and i'm still holding out hope for a few shows in the future. i may, depending on how well this first run goes, do some sort of "historical" release for older bands that aren't around any more. but that is getting way ahead of myself.SewnFlesh wrote:saw your mail kevin.. would definitely be willing to donate tracks from any bands i've been in.

Re: ATTN: Anyone in Bands.
so far, i'm not really limiting the genres. I personally only really know bands in heavier genres but hundy thou was brought up and i'm not against having some hip hop or indie or something on there. It will really just depend on how many submissions I get and what will fit on the cd itself. if i have 30 metal/hardcore bands and 1 happy go lucky indie band, i'll probably hold on to the indie band and wait till i get some more and do a second edition but i might just draw from a cap too.
Until i get enough music for a full cd i wont be making any big 100% decisions.

Re: ATTN: Anyone in Bands.
That sounds like a rad way of doing it. There are a wide selection of bands on the island, and they should all be heard (with obvious exceptions).

Then you'll go from being lonely to wishing that everybody would just fuck off because their a bunch of fucking buzzkills going on about how 'you've got a problem" and they "just want to be their to help you". You don't need any of them. You just need drugs.
