that being said, hardcore in - in many communities - has grown and realized their potential and skill. the alberta scene is no doubt the best in this country. it almost always has been, but recently it has birthed some of the most talented musicians.

It does. The HiJinx kids are in new bands and "deadmonton" has one of the best hardcore scenes going. There's a ridiculous amount of good bands there.

In terms of a self sufficient hc scene with the amount of good bands, good venues, good promoters there is in AB I agree with her. And what parts of the canuk hc scene I havn't seen I've got friends from those places who also feel the same about AB.

Thing is, they get little touring bands or live outside influence so they need to stand on their own. It encourages support for local bands. So in terms of local scene they are on point, much like Vic. Only thing is Vic's scene is smaller.
