* B L A C K I E - GEN (acoustic one man thrash rap.)
* Lil Ugly Mane - Mista Thug Isolation (duh)
* Lil B - Gods Father ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
* 情報デスクVIRTUAL - 札幌コンテンポラリー (& pretty much anything those dorks on last.fm tagged as 'vaporwave' and the agonizing chin-stroke article on dummy mag that came with it)
* Actress - R.I.P (the best techno album with virtually no beats)
* discovering the greatness of Arthur Russell and realizing how much contemporary music ripped him the fuck off
* Laurel Halo - Quarantine (2012's weirdo electronic kate bush or something)
* Container - LP2 (techno made by a noise dude with a shitty drum machines, tape player, and some pedals probably)
* Captain Murphy - Duality (never minding the OF links, this stands pretty well on it's own and has gotten sufficient replays to be a contender for favorite)
* How To Dress Well - Total Loss (breakup music for an imagined relationship where you walk in and she cheated on you with some better looking dude so you're all crushed inside and wanna kill yourself but you're too wimpy so you just go for a long walk on a bridge and stare into the distance sighing with a single tear in your eye)
* Lorenzo Senni - Quantum Jelly (goofy ibiza trance stripped down to nothing but endless supersaw arpeggios that build up into nothing)
* Madteo - Noi No (tall, dark, and handsome house made by a guy who understands it but kinda hates it and wants to fuck with people's expectation of the genre)
* Scott Walker - Bish Bosch (the fucking ultimate payoff, well worth waiting another 6 years for just to hear scott walker scream though some sort of harmonic shifter to sound like some baroque demon's nightmare overtop of angry-swarm-of-bees strings and fart noises while a midget hits a gong)
* Terrence Dixon - From the Far Future Part 2 (just good old fashioned dark dystopian detroit techno soundtracks for hunting replicants in the remains of neo-new york)
* making hip hop beats for rappers
* quitting making hip hop beats for rappers in favor of teaching myself music programming languages instead
* Death Grips - money store / no love DEEP WEB (despite the fact I have no clue what the fuck MC ride is talking about, the production bangs and the sinister 'fuck you' tone to both these albums made for some satisfying bike rides around the city at night)
* LE1F - dark york (took a few listens but it holds up as well. rap for people who don't want the standard tropes i.e. poppin bottles / supermodels / bangbang / etc.)
* frank ocean - channel orange vs. Miguel - Kaleidoscope Dream (singin ass dudes singin about what r&b singin ass dudes sing about, you know the score.)

buncha other stuff I forgot, probably those freddie gibbs madlib eps, maybe that TNGHT ep though it got played to fucking DEATH, uhmm

also tweeler akis, that antwon tape has like...2 dope jams and you know it.
