definitive list
Give me some suggestions for hardcore bands that are a must. I'm new to this hardcore stuff and willa says my music sucks.

Re: definitive list
depends who you talk to here about this....
myself and jordan may try and pass on some legit youth crew bands.
Willa will disagree completely.
um
soo instead i am going to list a mix of bands. Trying to get all types.
Local/NW:
Sojourner, Set Foot, Black Breath, Logs, Shook Ones, Grave Maker,
Modern Life is War, Go It Alone, American Nightmare, CONVERGE, Ampere, Comadre, Graf Orlock, Ghostlimb, Dangers
Blacklisted, Carry On, Lion of Judah, Mindset, Get the Most, Insted, Chain of Strength, Coliseum, Black Ships, Cursed, Creatures, Crime In Stereo, Unbroken, Trial, Trash Talk, Paint It Black, Kid Dynamite, Sabertooth Zombie.
HAHA this could go on forever.. which i am sure other people would list too
i guess i could have done more of a DEFINITIVE LIST.
rather than listing sweet bands

Not all your music sucks! You listen to Blood for Blood. That's a good start!
BUT, you did say you thought Napalm Death was a joke band...AND you listen to Emmure.
...yeah, your music sucks. TIME TO GET REAL, YO.
Edit: also, listen to everything that Jordan and Troy tell you to. Even the Youth Crew shit I like. That way you can figure out the stuff you really like.

Then you'll go from being lonely to wishing that everybody would just fuck off because their a bunch of fucking buzzkills going on about how 'you've got a problem" and they "just want to be their to help you". You don't need any of them. You just need drugs.

Re: definitive list
the bands that originally got me into hardcore were Comeback Kid, Champion, Verse, Minor Threat, Modern Life Is War, Good Clean Fun, Casey Jones, Step It Up, Bury Your Dead. hell, even to some degree, Poison the Well, Nodes of Ranvier, Facedown Records bands.
a lot of these bands I only listened to for a short time period but they worked well as stepping stones into a genre which isn't necessarily the most accessible. they're even embarrassing. everyone starts somewhere. don't call your music bad, but you might find that it opens you up to other stuff.
you'd do well to listen to Minor Threat, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits, 7 Seconds, Madball, Sick of It All, Earth Crisis, Botch, Trial, and Judge. those are some bands that are a good combination of influential and pretty easy to get into.
