I liked the locale, the show, everything. Easy to please. Looking forward to this so much, if only for finding out about a couple of bands I never knew existed.

I went to his wife and explained everything to her while Ebony rapidly cleaned things up. After explaining, I went around and kicked everyone with beer/weed off premises until they had finished, and when I went back she was explaining everything to HIM in Polish. Things went a hell of a lot smoother after that. The language barrier was the biggest problem there.

this is really good to hear. i was with amanda when we witnessed the polish man having a cow. it was awkward and hard to watch poor Willa.

i liked the norway house better for the fest myself. they dont wanna book 2 days? seemed a good size. i didnt like the polish hall because it was too big, once the pit got seperated, it STAYED seperated and was just this huge open space with people hiding on the sides

Well, honestly, if there is a better place to throw the fest please please please let me know. If we can't get a huge name or two out here, a smaller venue would work better.

It must:

Book for two days.

Let us come in early and stay late to set up/clean up.

Let us handle security on our own.

Otherwise, i'm open to suggestion. However, as of right now we're going with the White Eagle Hall cuz it fits all those criteria and is run by fairly rad people.

Also, yeah, the Fest is a completely different breed of monster. 10 times the hassle, 10 times the headache. A lot of the complaints from last year were stuff we literally had no control over. However, please do let us know about gripes, because we can figure out the stuff we CAN fix/change from them.

well its always up for discussion but we had too many comlaints about friday and saturday. it works better over all for it to be on a saturday and sunday.

Friday/Saturday made heaps more sense. From the perspective I came from vancouver on the friday and had an appointment monday morning.
In the interest of drawing out of town bands friday saturday is alot better.
I mean unless youre getting Trash talk and Bane to play sunday night

I vote for quality/diversity over quantity. I'd rather see a few mindblowing bands that could potentially attract a big crowd, some different stuff I haven't heard that could appeal to the various... um... very very specific genre-centric views, and maybe some locals too. the last fest was great but I do agree with the couple others that said that it was a gigantic gigantic amount of bands that sounded the same. it was very fun and maybe I don't have much patience but I felt like it dragged on a little and bummed some of the fresh faces out. I am also not involved in planning or organizing this so please keep in mind that it's only a little suggestion from one person.

oh, but I don't want to see the regulations. 1) airfare from sweden is expensive 2) they're not even that good at all 3) offstage, they say bizarre swedish words, then "mosh", then chuckle to themselves

Stand next to me for five minutes and you'll probably hear me say a buncha english words, then "mosh", and laugh my fucking ass off.
